NO that rumour is NOT true so don't worry about it!

The first part of the test are the theory questions. This consists of 35 questions testing you on the theorectical side of driving, for example, identifying road signs etc. You need to answer 30 questions correctly out of the 35 to be able to pass this part of the test.

The Hazard Perception part consists of 14 different video clips which tests how well you see and react to hazards in a certain time space. 13 of the 14 clips have one hazard for you to find, and 1 clip has two. It will be marked out of 75 points, and you need to get 44 out of the 75 in order to pass this part of the test.

At the end of your test, you might be asked if you are willing to take some trial questions. These will not affect your score and they are optional.

Also remember, that if you fail one past of your test, then you will have to retake both parts. The earliest you can do this is 3 working days after your previous test, allowing you time to revise.

Hope this helps to put your mind at rest.
