What makes earth so special? why will organisms adapted to mars' habitat not evolve in mars too?

After reading most of your replies, i recognise the following trends:
1) the earth being used as a model for what life on mars should look like. Why can't an organism evolve that will be adapted to the martian environment?
2)Redefination of evolution. Most folks seem to forget that there is also organic evolution which addresses issues of the origin of life.

There is no life on mars or at least nothing have been found yet. I checked before posting.

O.k. first life on mars does not have anything to do with evolution. No, I don't believe in evolution; just your question is invalid.

Since we are on the subject of Mars I thought I should point out a few interesting facts.

Fossilized bacteria exsists on Mars.

There is evidence that at one time Mars had water, thus meaning it had to have some type of atmosphere.

There is slight evidence that plant life exsisted on Mars (I haven't backed up this finding yet, so don't quote me)

Last, but not least. There are what appears to be pyramids on Mars. Much like the three near the Sphyx. (This unnussual has been found on a couple other planets then our own, and has been rumored on others. Including that it is rumored that they are on the back side of the moon (just a rumor for now).

Anyways even if aliens exsisted that would not prove or disprove any of the therories to our creation.

God created us, why couldn't he create aliens.

Maybee a long time ago some of us evolved and left planet Earth.

Either way aliens, or no aliens doesn't prove or disprove anything.

The conditions on Mars were not right to support life. At least they are not now--we don't know about what they were a couple billion years ago.
Why would evolution need to account for life not evolving there?

Mars never developed an ozone layer. Therefore, there is a lethal amount of radiation from the Sun reaching the surface of Mars. Mars NEVER HAD LIFE and never will have life unless an ozone layer is created for it. So far, we do not know how to do that. If we did, we would fix Earth's thinning ozone layer.

Mars does not have the essentials for life to evolve... there needs to be water... and there needs to be oxygen... which Mars has very little of if any.

Seeing as this was posted in the Religion and Spirituality catagory... well you don't see god putting life on there to prove that he created life... if that is what you are getting at...

First, evolutionary theory has nothing to do with whether or not there is life on Mars. Second, the last I heard, no life has been found on Mars. If there is life found, it would probably be small microbes and nothing as advanced as the life forms here on Earth.

Dropped out of high-school?

The environment on mars is to hostile to life as we know it. We have also only scratched the surface of mars, so there could be tons of life (or at least fossils).

Further, evolution says NOTHING about how life starts. That is the theory of abiogenesis.

Mars has no water in liquid form and a VERY thin atsmosphere.
It does not fit the criteria needed for life to begin and survive.

PS - in order for Evolution to explain it, there would have to be life there to begin with.

Evolution has nothing to do with how, where, or why life begins. It's a process that takes place AFTER life is already there.

There is definitely a good explanation for why Earth has life and none of the other planets in our solar system do, it just has nothing to do with evolution. I suggest you ask that in the "Science and Mathematics" category.

they have found fossils of what looks like bacteria on mars. there is probably life deep under the martian surface. the reason mars isn't as diverse as earth is is because of the harshness of the planet.

There has been scientific evidence of bacteria similar to ours on Earth. It was on a rock. There is frozen water on the northen part which means if there was any life, it's probably frozen and dead in there somewhere. Excluding bacteria of course. Also: There must be life else where. If there isn't: We're living in a boring uni(?)verse.
