When you are sure that "I love you" means the same thing to him as it means to you. When he's not neurotic enough to intrique you; he's not evasive enough to titillate you; he's not handsome enough enough to overwhelm you; and he's not charming enough to sweep you off your feet. He certainly doesn't have a series of practiced moves that makes for polished seduction. Yes, he may be very romantic, he may even send you flowers, but usually after he falls in love, not when he's trying to make you fall in love. Yes, he may bring you wonderful gifts, but on your second anniversary, not on your second date.

You will just know. I just knew that I was going to be with my wife for a long time before we were married. I can't tell you how I knew that she was the one, but she was and still is 9 years later.

No easy answer to this one. In order to really, truly know, you have to plunge in and if it's still working 20 years later, he or she is THE ONE.

If you can do certain things in front of them you usually do alone and they don't mind, you may have found them.
