Thank you for the laugh.
Well i don't think that the cabinet police should bother you.
Great question.

Has the statue been blessed or prayed by a Buddhist monk or nun before ?
If Yes , then it is wrong to put in the China cabinet . Because , by going through this blessing ceremony or praying session , The Buddha's spiritual essence has been infused into the statue and it is " alive" .
If No, then it is just a ornament. You can do whatever you like .
Let's say if you have let the statue go through the blessing ceremony or prayer session , you can actually pray to it.
If you pray sincerely , you would get responses.
( Note : I said sincerely . Praying to it without any sincerity will not get you any responses. )
Hoped it helps.

LOL! The Buddha will not care what you do with it. Buddhists are not attached to symbols. And LOL! God is a jealous god? Jealous of what? Why does a supreme being behave like a pissed-off person? Jealousy? Of what? Why? Is he so insecure?

It is ok to put your statue in the dog house. It is only a piece of stone, cement or plastic. It don't care where it sits and will always say nothing but stare at you. He's too chubby to move!

God is a jealous God.
He says not to have any other idols before Him.
So it is wrong to even have a buddha.
