I'm currently seeing someone who is controlling and sometimes abusive. I don't know how to let go of him. I don't know what is wrong with me but i feel down and depressed. I work full time and support me and my children but the icing on the cake would be to meet my soulmate. Any advice?

Get rid of your current man. Staying with someone like him means you're never going to feel special or have much self-esteem because by being with him you're telling yourself you don't deserve any happiness or anything better. So, get rid of the man, get to your doctor and make sure you're not clinically depressed, think about seeing a 'talk therapist' to get stuff off your chest in a supportive environment and then... do some stuff for yourself. When you've found your confidence and your strenght, when you're least expecting it, you'll meet the man of your dreams. Seriously, don't stay with someone who treats you badly, value yourself and your children and get away from him. It'll be tough but well worth it. Good luck.

Hello Alice, if ever you find the answer to that one let me know. I was in the same situation but it was taken out of my hands because he died, then I met someone who I fell in love with and he did the same even though it was a long distance relationship for 3 years, I dumped him eventually. Then I met someone who was my soulmate but he had a lot of baggage, much, much more than I could cope with, so now I have given up. I kept asking myself the same questions as you do "what is wrong with me" But don't feel sad, you have your job and your children. If ever you want a chat contact me, I will talk to you.

wouldn't we all like to meet a nice man! I'm sure there are some out there just keep looking Hun or one will find u, I'm sure one will come your way soon enough! just get out of the abusive relationship its probably not doing u or your kids any good! u sound like a strong person u don't need a man to make u happy!

Sorry to read your dilemma, but it seems to be the way. A lot of women only find out the chap they have fallen for is not perfect to say the least.
You've got little choice, leave start again remember its always a chance.

Find the biggest meanest lug in town and start dating him. I'm talking at least 6'5" and 350lbs of muscle. This should be enough to make the other guy get out of the picture. Possibly in the process you'll find out that the bigger the guy, the bigger the heart. Trust me, once a girl goes "big" she never goes back. I think it has to do with security issues.
