I have a white gold engagement ring. I have had it since November, my wedding is October 28th... how soon before the ceremony should I have my ring re-plated (where they recoat it in white gold)?
I want to make sure that I have it done and back in time for the ceremony, but I don't want to get it done too early and have it tarnish.... anyone had any experiece w/ this?

Nobody is going to be looking that close. I work 50-75 weddings every year and believe me, anyone looking closer than a glance is nobody you need to worry about. People who ogle are rude, so don't do it for THEM.

If you are worried about the rings photo, don't. A good photographer knows what lenses and lighting to use.

If you feel you must because your ring has turned an obvious yellow, you can have it replated a few weeks ahead of time, but don't wear it unless you have to. Keep it out of both tap & well water unless you are rinsing off cleaner. Don't wear it if you swim in ocean/lake/pool water and you should be just fine.

Hint: if you ring tarnished, don't take it back to the jeweler who sold it to you. Neither white gold or platinum properly rhodium plated should tarnish to a point where it is noticeable over any short period of time. With proper care, It should last years before beginning to show any discoloration.

I've got platinum engagement/wedding rings and I had the engagement ring replated a week before our wedding - actually, I didn't wear it that whole week so I would keep it looking polished and perfect!! Worked out great :)

Contact various jewelers and get an ETA on a replating job. I didn't bother with special cleaning or anything with mine. I just use soap, water and a soft cloth.

Good luck!
