If there were no borders a man moving from Mexico to Texas will be considered hard working not an illegal alien. After seeing pictures of the earth from space all these years, it is disappointing that statemanship, religious or even military leadership has not developed that will allow us to see and address our needs as one. Thousands of years after the great wall of China became a tourist attraction and relic of a distant unimaginative past it is pathetic to see the United States and Isreal with their democratic, capitalistic and religious ideals building walls along man-made borders. Considering the recent out breaks of SARS, bird flu and the insular North Korea's testing of long range missiles the lack of intelligent debates coming out of Washington about the immigration is very alarming. Why is it OK for other countries to have borders and inforce them, but not the US? Why is it the US' fault that North Korea is testing missiles?

Countries have limited amounts of services, land, and housing available and would like to keep those for their own citizens. There is nothing wrong with that.

Illegal immigration is just that ... illegal. The reason for this is to make sure that our infrastructure can support the influx of people and not be overloaded. The only insurance of this is to add to the load slowly and let it balance along. If you want more poverty and want in the US, open the borders. If you want a better standard of living, control the influx of new people so we can balance the load and spread the wealth.

First of all, the word is "BIGOTRY."
Second, what are you actually asking? After the first question you are very vague on your stand, is it Immigration issues or building a wall in Israel, or SARS, Bird Flu in Asian Countries or the issue of North Korea having long range missiles? Decide what you want ask first by giving more insight to what you are asking.
Every country has their rights to make borders, it's call their autonomy to make their presence and boundaries of their country.
Building a wall in Israel was between Israel and the Palestinians, not the Mexican Borders.
What do you want to do if all of a sudden some one from Asian countries came with bird flu or SARS and infected the united states and starts killing every one of your families by infecting them with incurable diseases? That is why a country sets boundaries such as borders to prevent such things from happening.
What does the lack of immigration debates from Washington has anything to do or any relation with North Korea having long range missiles?

Bigotry seems to be the american slogan.It's okay for us to pay for immigrants from Iraq to study and live here.It's okay for us to give immigrants from Africa homes and teach them english.But not for us to welcome hispanics who enter our country to work everyday.They never ask for those kind of hand outs.Matter of fact,they come here expecting nothing from us.What money they get,they work for.So far,not a single illegal immigrant has posed a terrorist problem.And unlikely ever will.

We build walls to keep out Mexicans.Border patrol to arrest and shoot them.For what?Walking across a river?What man decided the world should be made up of borders anyway?Everyone has seen the tragedies brought on by the wall of china and by the berlin wall.They were made to keep ppl out.To keep countries in isolation.I hope that one day america needs mexicos help,and they laugh in our faces.Why help those who are hostile towards them?
