Immigrants who are here legally have every right to stay and continue working. However, I'm guessing that your question refers to ILLEGAL aliens who are committing a crime every day by simply being in our country.

I don't care how long they've been here. If they came here illegally, they can go right back - no questions asked. We tried amnesty in the 80's, and all it got us was millions more illegals because they had somewhere to hide once they got there. More amnesty = more illegals.

They are welcome, however, to pay their back taxes to reimburse us for all of the services that they have stolen from us during their invasion - schools, hospitals, roads, police, fire, etc.

Once again if you are an immigrant then you are allowed to work and live here legally. This means that you already have your green card. If you are a non immigrant this means that you are allowed to stay here for a period of time, based on your I-94. If you have over stayed on your I-94 you are now illegal. If you never got documented permission to be in the US, then you are illegal. Now if you come into this country illegal and you work here for 20 years you have already broken the law. Has long as the law states that you should be deported if you are illegal then so be it. It has nothing to do with what a hard worker you are. Let me ask you a question, if you stole something and got arrested, then broke out of jail and change your life. You spend the next 20 years teaching others about obeying the laws and you have assisted with changing many others lives because of your hard work, should you have to go to jail 20 years later? Hmmm think about it........

Although our nation is relatively young, how quickly we have forgotten that for the most part "we are all immigrants" Immigrants in search for a place to live in freedom. Free to work, Worship and support a family - Freedom from extreme poverty. How can we take this"right"away from them, from anyone. Most of us have no idea of what life is really like in Mexico or Haiti or some 3rd world country. My ancestors didn't come here by choice, but I'm immensely grateful not to be living with my Sudanese Cousins! The Native Americans should be the only people allowed to turn people away... Put them in charge of Immigration and we'd all be fortunate to still have a place called "home".

Its kinda hobson's choice for the govt.... allowing the illegal immigrants to stay means that you are condoning this kind of behavior and probably giving an impression that its tolerable, but you have to look at this issue from a humanitarian perspective too... those guys have gambled with everything they had to come to US (land of opportunity) and make a better life for themselves as well as their dependents, esp. those back home, so what they ask is why not give them a chance?

Ultimately, given the heat generated on both the sides, its a very touchy issue indeed and the govt. needs to find a middle ground so as to deftly handle this issue.

Yeah, first thing is to stop using the euphemism "immigrants" when talking about illegal aliens.

I'm concerned about security breeches. I'm concerned about illegals unfairly bypassing slews of legitimate aliens who DO obey the immigration laws.

My solution would be to deport illegals who've crossed the border over the past year (I know, it's not total justice on my part) and create updated, exponentially stricter immigration laws, whereby anyone who's found to be illegal past this date of deportation, will be severely punished by the law and dumped out.

And the borders would receive triple the security now because: A subdivisional branch of the Homeland Security Department would be created and heavily funded; its sole function to ensure vigilant quality border security.

NO!!! They broke the law!

if we allow them to stay then others will come because they know they can broke the law.

All those in favor of making them stay are idiots who should not be allowed to cross the street on their own.
would you also like to change the law?

this is not a civil rights issue this is a legal one. So don't bring up black people. Were they bought here against their will?

Why don't they fight for the right to make thier orginal country better like they did the other day in the USA?

I KNOW what you REALLY mean is "illegal immigrants," and so no, they should not be allowed to stay, regardless of how hard they have been working. Why should they get to stay, while some other people have paid their fees, filed the proper papers, and have been patiently waiting for the process to take place? NO, they should be deported and go to the BACK of the line and apply properly and wait their turn. NO EXCEPTIONS!! NO AMNESTY!!

As long as they have clean records and are being decent citizens. There is a law that says if a person has been here for 10yrs before theyapply for a green card they can't be sent back.Even if the INS denies the application and it goes before immigration court. The judge will see their documentation proving life here for atleast 10yrs and won't be able to send them back. So,he'll have to grant legalization.

Yes,I like immigrants, legal or not.I've never had any problem with any illegal hispanic here, and welcome them.

If we enable all and diverse who needs to come back right here into the country the inhabitants will be about 8X what it really is now. So who could we enable in? the forged those that could help the country or the criminals? Deport the criminals and convey in solid human beings if we settle on them! priceless criminals isn't a superb idea! very last time we had amnesty we had a 60% enhance contained in the type of criminals invading the US. it would in straightforward words be worse this time round! They kill 10,000+ human beings and injure 836,000 contained in the US in conserving with annum and those numbers would in straightforward words bypass up if we allowed them to stay! Deport all unlawful, immoral, criminal invaders!
