Why is it that so many people who use this question and answer forum fail to use the "check spelling" feature?

I cannot understand this. The forum make it very simple. All you have to do is use the spellcheck, check your question and or answer...then submit. What is so hard about that?

I'd like to know the same thing.

But even the ones who do - will need to know how to discern among words that may be properly spelled, but improperly used (e.g. lose/loose, their/there/they're, your/you're).

The Macintosh computer that Apple makes comes with a built-in system-wide spelling checker. It works by default with all the programs that are written in Cocoa.

Since the Safari web browser comes with Mac OS X (the Mac operating system), most Mac users probably do not need to use the Yahoo Answers spell checker.

Misspelled words on the Mac are underlined with a red squiggly Iine. They can be added to the dictionary or the correct spelling can be picked by right-mouse clicking on the word and choosing the action that the user prefers.

A spell checker will also likely be included in Firefox 2.0, which is expected out later this year (late 2006). The free Flock browser, which is based on Firefox, comes with a built-in spell checker already - though it does not run automatically; it must be invoked by the user.

The spell-checker in Yahoo Answers is probably aimed at people using operating systems that are quite old, and who do not use modern web browsers.

Some people cannot upgrade their operating system has been discontinued, or not updated in a really, really long time. If they do not feel the need to get newer operating systems, they probably do not feel like bothering with something like a spelling checker.
