There is no such thing as an American President, there is no such a thing as ‘American’ nationality, America is not a nation America is a continent with many nations in it. The US never named itself the name of the United States is a designation it comes from the end of the Declaration of Independence, "WE, therefore, the Representatives of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in GENERAL CONGRESS, Assembled...". The preamble to the U.S. Constitution reiterated the phrase: "We the People of the United States..." (The authors of these two documents probably used the phrase "united states" in place of a list of colonies/states because they remained uncertain at the time of drafting which colonies/states would sign off on the sentiments therein.) The geographic term "America" specifies the states' home on the American continent.
It is therefor incorrect to refer to US citizens as Americans with the intent of denoting citizenship, or the United States as America with the intent of denoting a nation. Americans have a term for US citizens, we are called United Statesians by the rest of Americans, to say American with the intent of denoting citizenship or America when we mean the United States reflects poorly on our attitude towards the 70% of Americans that are not United Statesians.
[edited to add response to older and wiser]
Not at all, United Statesian is simply the English version of the word Estadounidense in Spanish and Portuguese. Simply Google United Statesian and you'll get over 11,000 results, just two months ago there were less than 9,000 the term is taking hold little by little in our language.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=United+Statesian&btnG=Google+Search
To get a better grip Google Estadounidense and you'll get almost 13,000,000 results.

Excuse me United Statsian????? I've never heard that term. We are Americans. Are you trying to give us a new name? Oh and by the way LBJ was a fine President. Did alot of good things and some things that were questionable. But I mean Bush --- h--l--- even old Calvin Coolidge was a better President.

Lyndon B Johnson wasn't a very good president either! I think if John F Kennedy had never been killed this country would be totally different today....he was awesome.

I hate to break your bubble, so read this:
"Influential politicians, including Sen. Lyndon B. Johnson (D) of Texas and Sen. Pat McCarran (D) of Nevada, favored open borders, and were dead set against strong border enforcement, Brownell said. But General Swing's close connections to the president shielded him - and the Border Patrol - from meddling by powerful political and corporate interests."

Just shows what an idiot you are. LBJ was probably the WORSE pres we ever had. He is single handedly responsible for the american trouble in Vietnam. Atleast Bush knows how to fight a war, & wont send us in unprepared as LBJ did in nam. LBJ also had something to do with the JFK assasination.
Democrats are a pathetic group, with LBJ at the head.
VOTE ANYTHING BUT DEMOCRATIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Didn't we have this question yesterday from a Republican? You may be right about the current president not being up to LBJ, but I'd go beyond that to say that LBJ wasn't so great either. I'd go with Lincoln, Washington, and FDR.

an exciting record. i imagine i'd amplify the communicate to describe why the accomplishments lead them to rank interior the full ten. i imagine i'd also mood the record with a number of the "down facet" consequences of their administrations. case in factor: Wilson were given the U. S. into WWI after campaigning on a neutrality platform. organising the Federal Reserve, and the Fed's rules in 1929 contributed to the full melancholy. Jefferson almost bankrupted the country with the Embargo of 1807, and he ended strict interpretation of the structure in buying Louisiana.
