Thank you for sharing that. Believe it or not, I really needed to hear that today.

Forgiveness, well that is not just wishing...It is actually FOR YOU. Forgiving your past mistakes, failures, set backs and allowing yourself to move on to bigger and better things. Also letting go of the people you feel may have wronged you as well. Forgiving others opens the door for others to forgive you. Wishing in LAZY,,,, Forgiving takes WORK,,, 2 different things!!!! you probably wish you never asked this question LOL!!!
Do it so you can grow in life and better your future. Your past can not change but you can....

What about this idea of forgiveness?! I am not to sure of your discription of forgiveness but I can tell you that if you ask Jesus to forgive you he will and then you can really experience forgiveness. (He whom the son has set free is free indeed.) Also forgiveness is a choice and if you choose to forgive those who offend you your life will be better. Unforgiveness becomes bitterness and will bind you. The only way to experience freedom from those bonds is to let the offense go and choose to not hold on to it.

No, forgiveness is the act of absolution. It is an act of your will. You forgive someone when they do wong to you or are indebted to you. You wipe the slate clean. You begin fresh with that person. You start over and rebuild the relationship you had before. You learn to trust all over again. But you do not leave yourself open to be taken advanatge of again. To forget is to leave that action in the past. As if it never happened.

Letting go of the hurt is important, but letting go of the memory is not safe to do. Forgive and remember. That way you are safe if someone tries to do the same thing. Take care and thanks for the encouragement!

Ok...Its a good idea. Wishing you can change the past does you no good. Think about the future, thats what you can affect. Learn from the past, look to the future.

I have come to a point in my life where i now know that forgiveness is not a gift that i give to someone who has offended me, but rather the point where i decide that i am no longer going to allow the actions of another to control me.
forgiveness of another person is a gift you give to yourself.

I know exactly where you are coming from, because I had often wished that my past was different. I had to come to terms with it, though, and forgive myself and others who had hurt me. Yes, you are right on the money.
God bless,
Danny

Forgiveness does give us a peace of mind and less stress. Think about that. Want a heartattack real soon hold grudges.

yep
part of accepting forgiveness, is forgiving yourself and letting go of the guilt
so that way, you are not condemned anymore
if you don't let go of "feeling guilty" then you have not yet accepted forgiveness
it took me YEARS to learn that & I am still learning
