And if not, would you if there was a police car behind you?

YES. YOU SHOULD ALWAYS USE YOUR BLINKER. IT IS THE RULE, POLITE, AND THE ONLY WAY TO LET PEOPLE BEHIND YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

And seriously people, don't put your blinker on AFTER you're in the turn lane (you're obviously turning at that point) or only two seconds before you turn (no reaction time for those behind you). Blinkers were put on your car for a reason... USE THEM.

You have to use your turn signal no matter what. If for no other reason than to alert the idiot not paying attention behind you that this is a turn lane. And you have to use your signal to move into the turn lane (or else you get ticketed for an unsafe lane change). If a cop is behind you and you make the turn, you get a ticket.

From what I remember, it's not required legally for you to use a signal if it's a turn-only lane.

I always use my signal, just so everyone else knows what I'm going to do. I've seen many people in turn-only lanes that don't turn. Better safe than sorry in my mind.

I do use my turn signal, even in the turn lane. You never know, there could be someone in the turn lane who is trying to get out of that lane and back into traffic. So I do it so everyone else knows exactly where I plan on going.

i still use the turn signal even in the turn lane b/c you never know with cell phones, radio, live conversation, plus it's a good habit to avoid accidents (it reminds the distracted driver behind you) and comes in handy if there is an accident or as you pointed out, there's a police car behind you

I use a signal in a turn lane just out of habit.

it really is continually a competent theory to apply the turn signal even as replacing lanes, highly even as shifting over to the right. it really is because of the "blind spot;" you won't be able to continually see a vehicle in the back of and to the right. also, do not replace lanes quickly. bypass over slowly, so if there's a vehicle in the blind spot, the motive force will honk the horn and also you may react beforehand there's a collision.

Yes you always signal weather there is a light or the lane is marked.

Yes, I definitely do, but I've noticed that most people don't. Sometimes, if it's a long light, I'll turn off the indicator once I'm in the lane and stopped. I figure, at that point, people know I'm turning. :)

yes. that way everyone knows which direction you are going in. you should also turn it on BEFORE you get in the turn lane, so the car behind you will know that you might be braking/slowing down to get in the turn lane.
