I take it you are from Scotland (like me). Although there are many more flights from Scotland every year there are still some places difficult to get to. Try Barrhead Travel for advice, try using Google to see if it comes up with something. Sorry I can't be of any more help.

BA is reasonable from Heathrow - Aeroflot are a bit cheaper (only to Moscow) - and Pulkovo fly to St Petersburg from Heathrow or Gatwick.
Russia is not as cheap as you may think, but most things are a little less than UK prices

Try to fly via Germany or a Baltic country using a budget airline:

Pulkovo should be a good bet too.

you should look online at european discount airlines. They're generally just as nice as the major airlines but much cheaper!! Never been to russia but I've traveled through central and western Europe extensively with discount airlines. hope it helps!

That relies upon on the airways corporation, because you probably did not element out your area i'm unable to respond to you question with numbers. even as i'm travelling between Moscow and ecu I choose instantly flights with ecu nationwide businesses as they often have pleasing lower priced rates. although, there is multiple discounter businesses like AirBerlin or Germanwings you may fly merely about for peanuts in case you e book properly earlier (many times 3 months ahead), although the variety of places they perform is restricted. Flying by ability of Ukraine isn't unavoidably the most inexpensive selection, frequently that is extra accessible to modify in Riga or Warsaw in case you commute with the traditional airways. as an celebration, you may commute between Moscow and Frankfurt, Germany, for as a lot as one hundred and eighty EUR with Lufthansa and 129 EUR with a discounter (round cost ticket), direct flights. that is far more cost-effective than an section flight for an same distance. yet in case you commute between Moscow and Toronto, Canada, then the most inexpensive selection is Aerosvit by ability of Kyiv, Ukraine - that expenses 850 EUR. upd. for flights 20 JUL (to) and 27 JUL 2011 (lower back) Miami to Moscow a million end (by ability of Atlanta) $a million, one hundred and fifty Delta airways 20 JUL 12:15 DL130 MIAMI to ATLANTA 20 JUL 15:20 DL46 ATLANTA to MOSCOW SVO, arrival: 10:10 (+a million) 27 JUL 12:05 DL47 MOSCOW SVO to ATLANTA, arrival 15:40 5 27 JUL 17:35 DL75 ATLANTA to MIAMI Miami to Kyiv a million end $a million,606 Delta airways, Alitalia, Aerosvit Miami to Minsk a million end $a million,453 Delta airways, Aeroflot of route that is more cost-effective to fly to Moscow upd2. I checked Dallas and Shreveport - they are extra severe priced, the most inexpensive selection to Moscow is $a million,433
