admitting he has a problem is the 1st step, to getting better , but it is a long journey. I know if he is an addict, he will not be able to just put it down. he has to want help for himself, you can stand by him and help support him if he wants to get clean and stay clean, but taking his dope away will not work, there is always more out there . there are 12 step programs and rehab that can help, if he wants it. good luck and God bless.

I told my boyfriend that it was his descion whether or not he stopped smoking pot.....I definitely did not force him to. One day his just said I'm done with this and hasn't smoked since then, that was March 5th of this year. I think if you make someone do something it has much less of a chance for them to actually continue doing that. He's got to decide if that is what he truly wants and then you support him in every way possible.

Once you've tried it you'll always need something to compensate so leave him the pot or else he'll be cracking until he looks like Nicole Ritchie

You did the right thing, if he really wanted to get clean. And for both your sakes, I hope that is so. Now, he needs to get to rehab and get himself and his life put together. Crack is bad stuff, and it won't let go easily.

Who knows. But what I do know is you can't get him to stop. This is something he needs to do on his own. You can love and support him as long as you can stand it but taking his stuff away isn't going to make him quit.

The best thing you can do for your boy friend is learn all you can about what you are dealing with and how to deal with it. There is a great site with a ton of info, learn sign and simptoms etc... http://www.crackcocainerecovery.com

If he really wants to quit, ask him to check into rehab. If he blatantly refuses, he isn't ready to quit and isn't someone you should be with.
