Well, makes sense to me. I'm christian, but gotta admit, I don't like most of us. We have a tendancy to be very judgmental, which I despise.

Why is it necessary that we Christians should be likable...? We are not supposed to be good examples! In that respect, he was right, Christ is the only perfect one and the only good example. I'm well aware of my own shortcomings. Because of them, I am a little uneasy to speak up for Christ, but I can do it only by holding Him up and not myself.

Perhaps Ghandi didn't met very many good Christians. I doubt that he would have considered me one, but then, it's a good thing for me that I am not judged by Ghandi.

For that matter, there are times when I don't 'like' Christ, but that doesn't make Him wrong. I know in my conscience that He is right and I am just being stubborn and disobedient, so I have to go ahead and obey Him. I hope that someday I will get in the habit of obeying-- doing what He wants and not stopping to think about whether I 'like' it or not.

Heh, isn't that remarkable-- I'm hoping to get better at the very thing so many people criticize Christians for-- believing and obeying without thinking. For anyone who disagrees with Christianity, I'm not saying that to tie a knot in your tail. I hope you don't react as if you are horrified or disgusted, and it isn't necessary to feel sorry for me, either. It's what I believe.

I am a Christian, and I do not object to the quote. I am not Christ. I will never be Christ. I follow Christ, and when I am focused on Him, I reflect Him "as in a mirror" (2 Cor. 3:18). I don't follow other Christians. Other people should not follow me.

Several Christians are hypocrites so its understandable where Gandhi was coming from. A true Christian is like Christ so he would like a true Christian.

I agree the Catholic Church has been corrupt through out history. Mainly during the dark ages. But this does not mean that the individual Christian is not good. You can't generalize and label an entire religion for the mistakes of a few. There are people in every religion that have done wrong. This does not mean that the religion is wrong.

It is absolutly true that all, ALL, of those of the Christian Faith fall short in the Christ Like area... God knows this and says that will always be the case in this mortal world... That Quote also shows that, however gifted he may have been in other areas, Gandi lacked understanding of The Truth of The Christian Faith.

I accept honest email questions concerning the Christian Faith. Or, you may check me out at:

I love it. He's trying to say Christ was a good man and that the Christians are not exactly the best people in the world. Some are cold, spiteful and narrow-minded.

Everyone that says they are Christians are not. True Christians(that means followers of Christ) are Christlike. Any thing else is just an imposter. May God Bless

this is a man made quote, & i don't like it one bit.
who's handhi? a man made graven idol image.
remember: 10 commandments in the bible states:
thou shalt have no other god's b/4 me, nor worship any idols or graven images.
there's only 1 god, 1 who's jesus christ.
we're no one to judge anyone or another. only god can judge.
you can dislike christians, but you're disliking christ. he's the one who died upon that cross for all us sinners . why? because he loved us so much. that's why.
so let me ask you this questioN?
would gandhi died & be crucified on a cross for you? would he be tortured & crucified for you?
no, i don't think so.
that's how much love jesus christ has for us.
christians aren't perfect, & neither are you nor gandhi. christians aren't perfect, just forgiven.
we all fall short of the glory of god, we're human, all make mistakes too. just like you.
christ was perfect. there's none like him. we can try to be, but not quite.
YOU NEED JESUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After observing some of the answers that are given by people that claim Christianity I would have to agree with the quote.
