Looking for suggestions that won't break the bank, something that would be fun and different for a couple that has been together for a year. We live a block from the beach so "long walks on the beach" are kinda an everyday thing and getting boring. Neither one of us can sit through a movie. Any ideas?

Best cheap date. A loaf of bread and a park full of ducks. The long walk just talking and getting to know each other and then the fun of connecting with nature. It was amazing.

Instead of just walking along the beach, try boating. Try getting in a small boat and taking a little fishing expedition. You can see the water from a different perspective. Learn how to fish together, if neither of you know . You can always try bowling, or a dance lesson - both are interactive.

Picnics on the beach. But my favorite thing is to make a dinner, but only desserts. Have a treat night and just enjoy it. You can make them together and share them wherever you want to go (maybe a park or over candlelight dining). Also, there are usually cheap sporting events, you can go swing dancing, go to a fair, carnival, hiking, movie on the beach (take a laptop or small dvd player), grab a group of people and play games.

This sounds silly but on my first date with my boyfriend we went to the movies. we both got in for free but thats not really a problem as tickets are only $5.00.

It was snowing out and the lights were light up. We went in saw the movie and walked back to our campus. the music was playing outside and the snow was lightly sprinkling against the lights. and all of a sudden he jumpos into a snow bank and we started making snow angels.

the point is its now what you do its how you do it....

picnic take her for a walk in a beach or a park....
borrow someones boat ...
set up a fancy restaurant in your house or a friends and get a friend to be a waiter for you :)

send her roses and deliver them yourself ... theres so many things you could take her and do that dont cost any money at all...

good luck

Hmmm... I would have to say, something messy, fun, and very romantic! Like throwing paint or chocolate filled balloons at eachother till you are way to messy to continue and then... well Im sure you can think of somthin to do after that ;)

If not that then a picnic with all her fav foods, and a portable cd player playing her fav songs to dance to.. or just cuddle and try and make shapes out of the clouds!

Hope this helped ;) good luck!

I had a boyfriend who tried to get me lost. It was a great way to see some areas, within an hours drive of home, that I wasn't really aware of. We ended up at a state park where there were some natural springs. We hiked a little bit, and made a wish throwing a penny into the one spring.

there's always bowling which is relatively cheap. How about biking along the beach for something different. Walk around the city, go to the musuem on free days

Get a bottle of wine and a blanket and go somewhere remote on a clear night and lay underneath the stars. I love to just unwind and watch the night with someone really special. You would be surprised at how romantic it could actually be. Spice it up a little bit.

Kayaking, picnics in a different place, video games, night time swim at the beach, cooking food together, playing sports like soccer at a park, going to the park to swing, building sand castles.
