Yes, and that doesn't make me less of a woman either.

Yes. Because I like the novelty of being "Mrs."... instead of sounding like I'm married to my father.
No matter if you take his last name or not, you will be a Mrs, and it would cause me too much confusion (his name has 10 characters, mine seven) to hyphenate our names for our kids, especially since NO ONE can pronounce either of my husband's or mine last names the first time around.

Definitely! I could not seem to get used to and write my ex husbands last name, so when we divorced, I went back to my maiden name. I have had to write my fiance's last name a few times and I feel very comfortable writing it. What a difference an awesome relationship can make! I had an abusive first husband, so that's probably why I never felt comfortable using his name.
Anyway, I will definitely take my fiance's last name when we marry.

Yes, I will. I'm going from a last name that is 10 letters and most people can't pronounce it right (even though it's VERY easy), to a 4 lettered last name! :-)
I wouldn't mind a hyphenated last name, but it would be too long, and wouldn't sound good together.

If we didn't have my son when we did, I probably would have kept my name... but when our son born 2 1/2 years ago, it meant alot to my boyfriend that our son had his last name... so, when we decided to get married, ive decided to take his last name, that way all three of us do. I know it might sound silly, but doctors or any place that needs our info always thinks its weird and i get nasty comments and looks just for not having the same last name... doesn't make sense to me at all, but people (especially when i go to the doctor) do.

I did. I was eager to get rid of my maiden first of all. But I am also a very independent woman. I thought about not taking his name or hyphenating. But I decided I made a committment to him by marrying him. The least I could do was show him I really meant it and , despite my independence, sacrifice a part of what made me me and change my name to his.

I did. Then got divorced but had kids so kept the name. Getting remarried in a couple of years and I will take his name then. I really don't like my maiden name though it's not very pretty.

YES DEFINETELY! Ive seen alot of women who like to keep their own name mainly because they are successful and wish to keep being recognized for their work and for WHO they are! But otherwise I fully believe a woman should change her name to her husbands name once they are married!

Probably, because my last name is so difficult. I think that you should take your husbands last name unless it is sometihing really bad that your kids would get made fun of for.

i sure did....thats what helps carry on family names...plus to me it means something and im proud to hear it cuz i grew up here just plain and boring and hes from this whole other place and everything so when ppl here the name they're like hey thats not from here and then i get to tell the story of us lol :) sounds cheesy i guess.it also symbolizes me leaving my family to make one with him.
