I live in New England and I had my daughter in home based day care from 9 months old up until 3 months ago and it cost $150.00 a week, no meals provided. I switched her to a center because I felt she had outgrown the home daycare and it costs $155.00 a week, breakfast, lunch and 2 snacks provided. My daughter is 5 years old and she goes full time.

I currently have my daughter in three days a week (Dad stays home with her the other two) and we pay $50 a day (we are in the bay area just south of San Francisco) If we had her in full time it would be $45 a day. It comes out to $600 monthly for home based day care. I sincerely mean it when I say that home based day care is much much better. I had my daughter in a day care center for 3 days and I pulled her out cause I was so upset with their policies and lack of attention. I found a woman who lives 4 blocks away and is crazy about my daughter. She treats her like she was her own. Good Luck (BTW home based is less expensive too!!)

I live in Houston Texas, and the average Day Care Center for an infant through age 3 is about $130 a week.
I have three kids, and they go to a home-based center, she takes really good care of them, and we pay (for all three) $160 per week. That's $50 for my oldest, $50 for my middle, and $60 for my infant. They are 5 yrs, 2 yrs and 6 months.

I am a childcare provider. I just started out about 5 months ago. I charge 80.00 per wk. for full time. I have had so many parents come and go without paying that if I don't get at least 2 more full time good parents who pay I am concidering quitting. Right now I have two part timers and one full timer. I live in the sticks in Kansas. Beloit if you can find it on a map. My aunt lives in Denver Co. and has been a childcare provider for close to 30 years. She charges 50.00 per day. Big difference.

I live in Illinois. My child is 4 and it is a center based day care. I pay 149 a month, but that is with help from a local child care place. The rates normally are 100 a week.

I am a child care provider in West Virginia. My rates are as follows: $15 per day up to age 2, $13 per day ages 2-5, $10 per day over 5. A "day" is considered anything over 4 hours. Under 4 hours is $4 per hour. Anything before 6am or after 10pm is $11 extra.
