Your body hasn't had enough time yet to shed body-fat, but it has had some time to gain muscle. You really need at least 6 weeks of exercise and watching what you eat (I hate to say DIET because I don't like diets..they're usually programs that are unrealistic for the rest of your life). Make sure you are drinking enough water to help wash toxins, lactic acid, etc. out of your body. As long as you "see" some results, then you are headed in the right direction. At the end of the 6 weeks, make sure you don't rely on a scale to measure your success. If your clothes fit differently (you're smaller in all the right places), then that means you're doing it right. Keep up the good work!

You may gain weight from muscle mass. I gained 10 pounds from working out really hard. It wasn't fat or anything like that. Your muscle mass weighs more than fat. So if your trying to lose wieght keep up with cardio. Go hard for 5 to 10 minutes and then completely rest and do it over again. It'll keep you toned and you are more likely to lose wieght than gain it.

While it's true that muscle weighs more than fat, I seriously doubt you have gained 8 lbs of it in 2 weeks. Chances are your new exercise routine has increased your water and caloric intake. This is not to say that you are getting fatter, just that your body is still adjusting to your it's new requirements. It usually takes 6-10 weeks before you will start seeing any significant static results.

your gaining muscle mass which is a good thing...the fat is going aay. just keep it up and youll lose some. but i think that if instead of losing weight your body gained muscle then thats what it needed. are bodies are pretty instinctive like that. if after a couple of weeks check it out with a personal trainer at your gym, or try seeing a nutritionist to see if your eating correctly for you excercise plan. good luck

Usually you gain muscle weight and you might retain some water too. To lose weight you would have to do a lot more cardio than weight lifting.

Muscle weighs more than fat. If your doing weight training and building muscle, its normal to gain weight. Consult a personal trainer or Doctor if your worried. Its about feeling well, not looking good!

Get your thyroid checked by your doctor, and make sure your eating the right foods. Eliminate processed sugar. I'd bet 80% you have hypothyroidism. It's very common in woman and my wife and a lot woman have this disorder. You take a medicine called synthroid which bslsnce your hormones and helps you loose weight. Don't starve yourself because you'll actually gain weight instead of loosing it.

You are losing fat, and gaining muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, so you will naturally go through a short peroid where you gain weight before your loss of fat will be greater than your gain in muscle.
You're all good.

It could be because you're gaining muscle. Muscle out weighs fat. If you're trying to drop pounds, you should do more waling and fast pace exercise, and less weight lifting type exercises. Good Luck!!!!

If you are weight training, then you are gaining muscle mass.... you may be burning fat in the process but you are also bulking up your muscles. Don't expect weight loss, expect different shape.
