I'm trying to find either used or new head phone speaker drivers for mdr-v700s. Either direct from the manufacturers of the drivers them selves, or sony, or used from stores on returns, or whatever would work or be the best option. Looking for information and suggestions.

Not software drivers. I'm looking for the hardware part of the headphones, called a driver. I'm building something for a specific use, and those are the only speakers that work. I just need the driver not the entire headphones. Since the headphones are extremely expensive, I'm looking to find information about where I could find just the drivers, whether they are new or used, or whatever.

I would recommend that you purchase replacement drivers through a Sony parts distributor but the Sony 050F025 1-542-390-11 drivers sell for about $70 US each through those channels.

Instead, you might try buying an inexpensive set of Sony MDR-Z700DJ headphones which are the same product as the MDR-V700DJ but are designated for the Japanese / Asian market. These can be bought just about anywhere for $60 or less and use the same components as the V model. Check out the eBay ad below.

Also, FYI the other posters misunderstood you because the question was redundant. Speaker = Driver in this context.

if you're looking for hardware drivers, its the audio output ICs. Could be a TA8200 or something like that. If you're looking for software drivers, I have no idea what you're talking about.

Why do you think you need drivers?

A pair of 'phones just plugs into the 'phones output socket of whatever equipment you have.
