I have a dgt. camera Kodak EasyShare C340, and i have no problem with its "functions". The problem is everytime i use alkaline batteries, after taking about 20 photos, a low battery icon
appears and just shuts down the camera. I turned it on again and again, but it keeps shutting down. But ironically, the batteries are perfectly full in my MP3 player. I just don't get it. It's full and it's low? If the battery type is the problem, then why would it say anything about Alkaline batteries in the user guide book?

Although listed in the user guide, alkaline batteries should really be used only in an emergency. Digicams require much more power than other devices. Alkalines just can't keep power high very long.

The camera is probably sensing a voltage drop in the alkalines that is not important to the MP3 player.

For extra batteries, get some NiMH rechargeable AA's, with a power rating of 2000 ma or higher. These will last a long time in your camera.

I got a Samsung 2500ma set of 6 AA's, 2 AAA's and a small fast charger at Costco for $18. It works great! There are lots of other sets around under $50.

Get rid of those Alkaline and buy NIMH recharables. You should be able to get 4 NIMH AA or AAA batteries, plus a charger for $20. Looks for 2100 or higher. Dig. Cameras spike their battery usage which is why alkalines only last a few pictures, but still are good in devices which use a more consistent, flat power level.

Ok I have no idea why it does this! I just wanted to say that mine did the same dam thing!!! Drove me crazy!!!!!!! It ate batteries like it was cool, and mine was the Kodak Easyshare too!!! I switched to an Olympus and its so much better. Maybe its just Kodak.... good luck. If you want to stay with the cam, maybe you could buy some rechargeable batteries or something... or just switch cams like me.

Try using rechargeable batteries, they seem to last longer. Also, you wont have to keep paying for regular ones.
