the pharmaceutical companies would find a way to make you chemically dependant for the rest of the 6 BILLION people's lives and costing all us a lot more than that ONE DOLLAR.

Are you tlaking about the US or the world? If just in the US, then there would about $300 million dollars more for research that requires even more money than that. If you are talking about the world, then it would be about $6 billion dollars and that would be enough, but keep in mind, in either situation there are some who can't even afford a dollar for cancer research. They need that dollar for food and survival.

You would raise a lot of money. However, most people think 'it's just a dollar, what can that do?' but if half of the US used that as an excuse that's a whole lot of money not going to research. There is also the question of 'how much is going into someone's pocket?' That is a great idea, though!

If you are in the U.S., you already 'donate' through your federal taxes much more than $1. The National Cancer Institute and the NIH (National Institutes of Health) have an ANNUAL budget for cancer research of more than $5 billion!

What if everyone donated a dollar to help victims of domestic violence and rape? What if everyone donated their organs and tissues after they died?

The government would find someway to steal it, besides even if they found a cure they would never tell us or use it, they make too much money from illnesses, treating them and such, why would they cure it if they could? they don't care really they just want to make money. There are probably cures for most illnesses.
