Read a book called "Holy blood Holy Grail" It is Non-Fiction and I will bet that Ron Brown based his whole Da vinci code story on the findings that are layed out in this book. The da vinci code may be fiction, but the theory behind it is a sound theory and there IS much evidence to support it. It is not ALL made up.

Yes, the outrage generated by the book has illustrated how dangerously reactionary the Christian faith is becoming, and how prevalent that attitude is in the US right now. It also seems that those most ignorant of church history are the most outraged by the book

Ignorant people + religious indignation + country in a time of war = a very disturbing situation for the rest of us.

It's a BOOK. A FICTIONAL book. Some guy made it up, how on earth could it influence anyone's opinion....people need better things to do than try to put meaning into a fictional story....

Not in regards to the Christian religion or any of that Jesus/Mary Magadalene business, but it did solidify and helped express a feeling I've had for awhile. Robert explains to Sophie that all religion is metaphor and symbol and to take it literally is to take it out of context. It really felt good to see something I've thought about so long worded so well (well, I didn't word it well, but in the book, it's marvelous.)

A little bit.....

I believe the book is fiction, however some of the history is real. The origin of the bile for example. It caused me to pause and do a little bit of research and not just accept things with blind faith.

Yes. It makes a lot of sense why ALL religions "descriminate" women in their own ways. In every religion there is SOMETHING that only men can do because they are men. Look at muslim religion; they say that women have "special force" or something and if they are not comtrolled by a man they will be evil...

It's a book that makes you think. However, it should just encourage you to research as opposed to completely influence your opinion.

It influenced my opinion that people are morons and feel that this novel is the Gospel Truth.

The book isn't even well-written, rife with factual errors.

I got the book out of the fiction section at the library and it was there for a reason. So, no.

Don´s Brown novel is probably causing people to define their beliefs so as to be sure exactly where they stand in relation to Jesus Christ. The following link will add some input into this theme, however is not totally exhaustible.
