Your questions are flawed, generalized and presumptive, lacking logical progression and basic understanding of proven and accepted historical, literary, archeological, let alone theological contextual precepts.

A better question might be: "Why do SOME so-called Christians want to disregard the Old Testament (by saying not to take it literally) only when an Atheist (who shouldn't even care, if he really doesn't believe in a god) points out evil Scripture?"

Because most atheists who only point out what they want to in the Old Testament don't realize that the New Testament is the NEW law. God says this if you would read on instead of sticking to every bad thing in the Old Testament.

I believe everything in the Bible was written for a reason. God gave the old testament to show examples of how to live and how not to live. If we disregard the warning signs by previous Christians we will never grow as a Christian

Dear Charlie,

Are you sure that you are talking to a "Christian" when they disregard the O.T? Remember, the men who hijacked the planes in 9/11 all "looked" liked pilots before they drove the planes into their prospective targets. Remember, the doctors who actually had M.D. licenses when they sexually molested and raped some of their female patients. Alot of people claim to be "Christian" but can you see their heart? If you read the parable in Matthew 13 on the Wheat and the Tares, you will see God is teaching an important lesson. The wheat are the true children of God (saved) and the tares are the servants of satan (tares). They grow together in the churches but at the end of the world they shall be separated. The wheat (saved) go to heaven while the tares (unsaved) go to burn in hell. For more info see: www.familyradio.com.

Because we have to understand that Christianity is solely based on the New Testament but has to include the Old Testament because it is where the Christian religion was rooted with Jesus being a Jew. But the Christian faith follow Christ and not the Torah or else what makes Christians different from the Jewish religion.

why do you label Christians with the hypocrites? I believe in both, even if we both set down and read the bible together we would both believe differently. faith is believing, Please don't blame Christians. some people in there confusion mistakenly mis interpret scripture. Never the less Christ lived the law so we may be
free of the law. because the law shows sin and brings forth death.
With Christ the law was made simpler. threw Christ blood the law was fulfilled. In him doing so we as Christian are to follow his
laws of life. there are two that are simple. 1 & 2 and how can we say we love god whom we cant see. When we hate our nebors who we can see? Would we be pleasing to God if we insult what he takes pleasure in?

The Bible isn't one e book, yet a selection of books written thousands of years aside. false impression the Bible is element of bewilderment how the author has revealed His/Her/Its will to the human race steadily, each and every degree unfolding extra over the years. the picture of in college, each and every instructor builds on what the beforehand one taught. First grade math isn't a similar as six grade math which isn't a similar as severe college math which isn't a similar as college math - even though it really is all math and a similar concepts practice. on the topic of religion that is somewhat extra complicated. not in ordinary words did each and every Savior fulfill and upload to the Message of the only beforehand, yet then the persons extra their very own concepts to it. a variety of of the former testomony changed into written down centuries after the thoughts were first advised, so that is merely about not available to understand what Adam taught, except that He taught that people are different from animals. Noah taught that we opt to understand God. Abraham taught that there is in ordinary words one God (not a god of rain, a god of thunder, and so on.). Jesus taught that we are to love one yet another even those we imagine are our enemies. Muhammad taught that God's will is extra significant than our own will. Baha'u'llah has now taught that we ought to save the international with the intention to save ourselves. The Gospel replaced, to a level, the regulations of Moses. The Quran outmoded the Gospel. Now the teachings of Baha'u'llah have replaced the Quran.

The old testament condones slavery, murder, and subjugating women.

None of the stories that describe these immoral acts are taken out of context either.
