I am a Christian but would like to hear SCHOLASTIC (faith through logical reasoning) why, it is logical for your Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Shinto (etc.) beliefs. Only through reason please. I would prefer no lectures or dogmatic ranting (not to be rude or disrespectful). Atheists and blind believers (I understand that faith is mostly blind :) ) please do not respond please because (again not to be rude) but often your views are more ignorant or absolute than educated and open-minded.

In response to being a fool- I will furthur explain myself. The movement of scholasticism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scholasticism if you have never heard of it -took place in 1100-1500AD) was a process where faith was reasoned. If you cannot understand and reason why it makes sense to believe (not just gaining knowledge from the Bible, Koran etc.) please do not respond. Thanks for your time!

I am sorry. It seems that only a few people understood my question. It is more my fault I think. Let me give you a broad example. Why believe in a religion-namely Islam or Christianity? My reasoning for that question is this--- Eternity. Who wants to spend that long of time in Hell. It is only logic to in the very lowest state to believe in some religion because you have a future in Heaven. Atheists could be right. I don't believe they are but there is always questions they ask that I cannot answer. Through faith i am not bothered by that. However if somehow they were. They die and WOW they are right. Unfortunately there is nothing after death if there is no God and being right DOESNT MATTER THEN. However if they are wrong? They spend eternal life in damnation. It doesnt make sense to not believe. This is the very lowest reasoning for religion. It is not why I believe in Christianity, if it were it would not be true faith. But it illustrates my point i think. Thanks again.

Another. I am sorry again. Ha Ha. This is almost more than I expected. By blind faith I mean there are things that cannot be explained. Things that much be accepted through faith and without reason. However much can be. Maybe a better question would have been why does your belief in your religion make more sense than you believing in another or no religion. Answer these as you will. God Bless.

I enjoyed reading research information related to different
sciences, most often, quantum physics. I liked how as
research progressed, points were reached where no answers
were acceptable except that the differences experienced during
the test had to be influenced by the observer/s.

Also in understanding other research which indicates that the
smallest particles that we are aware of, are consciously aware.

This could explain how the observer could be influential in the
outcome of their research. Since we believe every-thing's made
from these, consciously aware, subatomic quanta, then
consciousness must be everywhere.

In sensing this, the awareness of individuals early on, may have
thought this expressed feeling of consciousness all around was
god.

This is strictly my opinion and only offered here as an answer to
your question in a manner to spark yourself and others' ideas
for further exploration. I thought this was a very good question
for setting off just that sort of spark.

If you search the scriptures with an open and mind and an eye to scientific knowledge you will find many references to things that have been known to man only in our generation. In the past they were mysteries only now do they make sense. The old testament is loaded with them. For example, science has been trying to explain what power holds things together on a molecular level. The answer is stated very clearly and simply in scripture. I should compile the ones I have found I know.
My study of the scriptures however is not how I have gained my "belief" and it is far from "blind". Reason and study has simply and unnecessarily confirmed what I know. God lives and He is the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob. Jesus is His Son He walked this earth ..lived a sinless life..bore my sins on the cross..died..and was resurrected...He sits at the right hand of God.

Reason for my blief. Hmmm... good question. I would have to say if you break it all down to plain simple reasoning it would be it brings reason to my life. I also am a Christian, and with out my faith, I have nothing, I am nothing, and will ultimately end up as a nothing, rotting in hell.

Logically, people need a reason to live and a feeling of importance to survive or just stay sane. Religon, no matter what your faith is in, gives you the feeling and sense of importance and love. Besides my faith, that is the reasoning behind my Christian beliefs.

Because my gut says there's more to this world than is seen by the naked eye and I choose to explore/believe in something. What you believe is your choice according to your level of comprehension. There are many, many paths which lead to enlightenment. The fact that the observer affects the material world around him just by observing opens millions of doors of possibilities. This is a proven fact. You create your current reality by what you feel and think. The real question here is: How far do you want to go down the rabbit hole? Seek and ye shall find.

It is difficult at best for me to believe anything other than there must be a higher power than myself or mankind.
The order of things is to established and continuing for this all to be the result of some cataclysmic event several million years ago.
Why is there such a difference in man and beast?
Where do these inner feelings come from that there must be something more to life than simply working, paying bills, raising children getting old and passing on?
Then looking at the writings of antiquity and the archaeological evidence that has been found I can come to only one conclusion.
That conclusion is the basis of my faith in GOD.

If a scientist can believe in an unexplainable big bang, and in an unexplainable creation of organisms that evolved for billions of unrecorded history, why wouldn't I believe in ppl that actually existed, like Moses or Jesus, who we actually know for a fact where real thanks to recorded history?
Evolution is like saying that a tornado finds itself in a junkyard and after billions of years, the result of the parts mixing turns into a Cadillac Cien, tell me that the belief of csientist is not blind

I believe in Jehovah because of dozens of reasons and none of it is blind faith but knowledge gleaned by the Bible.

Because the bible tells me too. Even though I can't see Him, I know he's there. I have enough faith to know that God does exist, that's why I believe.

I believe the proof of the existence of our spirit and the continuity of that spirit into an afterlife constitute a good basis for God. God is spirit. The rituals are the window dressing of religious groups.
