On having been on 3 Carnival Cruise (www.carnival.com), 1 Royal Caribbean Cruise (www.royalcarribean.com) and 1 Disney Cruise (www.disneycruise.com) all by the age of 14, I have decided on a favorite. Personally for me, my favorite cruise line has to be Carnival. Now, there is nothing wrong with the other two cruise lines at all, just for what I was looking for Carnival seemed to suit my needs. Carnival provides a fun, relaxing, and exciting experience. There is always something going on on a Carnival boat whether it’s a "Hairy Chest Contest" or an "Art Auction". Carnival also is a great line for families. While it not may be as family oriented as Disney, it still provides an excellent vacation for families. There are basketball courts, slides (on some ships) and the neatest teen and children centers on the high seas. The food is wonderful and dinner in the main dining room is always a memorable event. So many memories and pictures are made at dinner. The waiters and cabin stewards are remarkable and always super friendly. Now, Carnival may not offer the largest cruise ship in the world (Royal Caribbean holds that title) but does offer 22 excellent ships. From the smallest ship in the fleet, Holiday at 46,052 tons to their largest ships, the Conquest class at 100,000 tons, they are all great ships. Carnival also offers a wide range of cruise destinations with the regular Western, Eastern, and Southern Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Europe, and Alaskan cruises. Carnival offers a nice range of cruise lengths as well. Another plus is Carnival is cheaper than the other two lines at times. Even though it may be cheaper, it provides the same outstanding service, wonderful food, and exciting atmosphere. Now, there may be those out there who disagree with me, but I feel Carnival is the best cruise line and agree with their ads that there are "always a million ways to have fun on a Carnival ship." But if you end up going on a cruise, any line you pick will be an exciting experience.

Will be taking my 21st cruise in August and sailed originally on
Sitmar in 1979 which was purchased by Carnival. Have since sailed Carnival, Princess, & Royal Caribbean. Royal Caribbean wins hand-down. Our last cruise was in March and we took the family since it was our 25th wedding anniversary. There were 17 of us and it was the absolute best cruise ever. It was on RCCL and quite a test for all of us. Not a single complaint from any of us. Food, dining room service, cleanliness of ship (A really big point with me), friendliness of the dining room staff and efficiency was awesome. You can imagine trying to serve 17 people, all at one table and making sure everyone has the right food at the right time. Our staff was flawless down to having each person's dinnertime beverage sitting in front of then 5 minutes after they sat down. The children were treated as royally as the adults too.
In my opinion, if you're looking for mediocre food, so-so service, and ho-hum entertainment, then Carnival & Princess fit that bill.
What they really have to offer are ports or itinerary that RCCL
does't have and that's why we chose Princess for Tahiti. Carnival offers some pretty good deals and our last cruise with them was for that reason, 8 days Mexican Riviera, $750/person in a balcony. Couldn't resist it. Finally, have heard that Celebrity and Holland America are also quality experiences.
Whichever you chose, research exactly what you're looking for, i.e, party boat, itinerary, length, ports , & price. You can't go wrong if you do your homework and enjoy!

We've been on Norwegin Cruise Lines (NCL), Carnival and Royal Caribbean. Royal Caribbean is by far the best. If you like to stay druink all the time, you would like Carnival, it is is a party ship and cheaper.
Go to http://www.cruisecritic.com and read the reviews there and decide for yourself.

Royal Caribbean. They have the largest ships with the most variety of activities in my opinion. Although, I've only cruised Holland America and Royal Caribbean, my last 3 have all been on Royal because I like them so much. They're a good "medium" between complete party ships or complete uptight ships.

I have only been on Norwegian and Celebrity. I liked Celebrity a lot and will cruise with them again. We are in our 40s and not the party types. You should choose a cruise line based partly on what type of atmosphere you want - party, elegant, etc.

I've only been on one cruise, on Royal Caribbean, but I loved it! The ship was beautiful, the food was good, the activities interesting, the ports great, so I wouldn't hestitate to recommend RC to anyone!
