I think it should as well. I think the arguement is all based on when life starts. I feel it starts in the womb, so killing a fetus is the same as killing a born child. They both feel pain, they both have a heartbeat, what it the difference?

Hmm... Today women and men want to abolish abortion because of the damage because of the damage.
But no one even remembers two things: a) the history of abortion as in ancient history of abortion, b) the risks of pregnancy - the biggest of all being death for both mom and child, c) the reasons why abortion even came to be such a major issue in the first place and d) cultural values as to when life enters the system and the foundations behind those values.
I suppose you could argue that giving birth is safer now. And that you could always give kids that you can not economically provide for up for adoption. And it’s nice to think that there is a large population out in the world that would accept these children with loving arms. And that single moms and dead beat dads are not the norm.
But the world is not this way. Last time I read the newspaper, non-white babies up for adoption weren't the most popular choice.
And if you choose to have a kid at the age your body is best prepared to have a kid, you’re usually not economically stable enough to guarantee your family a middle class life.
-----------------
Here's how I feel:
Abortion is wrong and is a side effect of society not truly adapting to women. There is no reason why college girls should have a harder time going to school if they choose to have a child than those who choose not to. There is no reason why working women must make the decision between their families and the jobs and while men don't. There is no reason why mandatory free child care should not be everywhere.
But its seems to be a reoccurring theme in history that women and children must suffer the most.
If you address the reasons why abortion is EVEN considered an option, you will dramatically reduce the number of abortions that occur. But until then no, I don't think it should be abolished. It is a reminder of how we have failed ourselves and until we clean it up, we honestly don't have the resources and the wisdom to handle it.

On one hand, I can see where you are coming from but on the other hand, I disagree. I don't think that women who use abortion as a form of birth control should be allowed to take the "easy" way out and opt to have one. But, in some cases like rape or incest I think that if the woman (or girl) doesn't even want to go through with the pregnancy or childbirth (even though there's adoption) then abortion should still be an option. I don't think that abortion should be abolished because in some cases a woman may feel that that indeed is the best option.

The idea of the abortion is what it does to the fetus thats what is suppose to happen. Anyways to answer your questiion no abortion should not be abolished first off if a woman wants one she can still get one done even if its abolished. And you think damage is done to a womans body and mind now with legal abortions you should see the damage to the body and mind an illeagal abortion causes when done in some back alley operation or when some desprete woman sticks a coat hanger in her to rid herself of the fetus. At least with them being legal they are done in a hospital setting by actual doctors who know what they are doing. I personally would never have one but that is my personal choice and I dont feel that I have the right to tell someone else what to do with their body thats their choice and they are the ones who have to live with either the abortion or having the child I dont.Would you like it if someone told you what to do with your body? Just because you dont like something or think something is wrong doesnt exactly make it wrong it just makes it something you wouldnt do.Would you try to pass a law make people who dont believe in blood transfusions have them aganist their will? ( (And I am talking about adults not kids.)Look at what they are doing to thier bodies by not getting the transfusions. I dont see you trying to abolish that. But you will jump on the anti abortion bandwagon quick enough. Why dont you and others like you take all this energy you have carrying picket signs protesting and use it to help children that are here now that are starving. You want to help help them. They are the ones who need it.

Of course some people think abortion should be abolished. Life is precious so long as it hasn't been born yet. Then, the value of life goes down considerably. Overpopulation, the dilution of the global gene pool, a 10,000 year mountain of diapers, and the authoritarian brainwashing of the various religious doctrines advocating reproduction is a big part of the global pollution problem. People are so concerned for their precious own and want to multiply, then they gripe about a 3 hour daily commute to work. Meanwhile, poor children in India make a living rummaging through garbage heaps. And elswhere children starve to death. And we have an administration that won't approve of means of distributing birth control to nations where children are starving to death, on "religious" grounds. Wake up -- there's not going to be any being with magic powers to save the Earth from a runaway greenhouse effect caused by atmospheric pollution from coal burning industries and cars. We're on our own, ok? Why so much pollution? Too many people. Duh!! The question really is, what should we do with self-serving misguided zealots that think Roe v. Wade should be overturned?

Abortion should not be abolished. If at all it is abolished, can u imagine where we will head..... yes! :( population will increase to a great extent. And, we should not give birth to children if we are not ready to take on the responsibility to bring them up. Give them the basic things like food, education....
It might sound like its bad to kill!! but its better to save someone from being tortured for mistakes made by others. Being able to choose to abort or not is an opportunity to correct your mistakes. Giving birth without planning is the dumbest move. think about it... I think a woman has the right to live her life on her own terms. As far as killing the foetus is concerned, I don't think you can abort after some time of pregnancy. So, God does give us a choice but not the entire control. :)

no.
i think abortion is not good. If i were pregnant right now, i would keep my baby. But as others mentioned the above, some poeple get raped and pregnant. and if you get pregnant when you are 13 or 14, probably you won't be able to support your own kid...
from the perspective of gov't, they don't wanna increase young parents and/or low income family. we have to support them by paying tax. so they don't wanna abolish abortion. ( i think this is one of many reasons to keep abortion leagal)
that doesn't mean abortion is a good thing though... hope this makes sense.

No. You can ban it but it never goes away. Legalized abortion is the only way that you can control it. When will the far right get a clue? Ban something and it will be done anyway - even more. Legalize it, and you can control it. Works for alcohol, works for Booze, could work for drugs - and can work for abortion as well.

No, I don't think it should be abolished. Look at these countries that don't allow it, and don't have proper facillities to perform it. Women who have been victims of rape are perfoming illegal abortions in alleys and basements, usually dying from infection. It is a personal choice, and I am glad and relieved that we live in a country that allows us to make that choice safely.
