Mormons can drink either one if they so choose. Mormons are encouraged to be cautious in the beverages that we partake of. we are not to drink, coffee, tea, alcohol, but soda is OK. a lot of Mormons choose not to drink anything with caffeine, but some choose to.

Oh give me a break. Mormons can drink whatever they want. You will find both Coke and Pepsi products in Utah. Next time check your sources before you post a silly question.

Uh... this question isn't right.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches its members not to drink tea and coffee. Many latter-day saints choose not to drink caffeinated beverages of any kind. However, I can't see any reasoning that would explain why Coke would be okay and not Pepsi. I think you must just be in an area where Pepsi isn't available.

I work on a university campus, for example, and I know that the university has an agreement with the bottling company that they will only allow products from one of the companies on campus. But that's a business deal, not a religious thing.

A guy I knew a few years ago was a mormon and he said they couldn't have caffine, period. Odd, though, he told me that the mormon church owns a lot of stock in Coca-Cola - also owns stock in a few other things that the members are not allowed to use.

Don't know if it is true, never researched it, so take it for what it is worth.

I prefer a mixture of diet coke and diet pepsi. With a twist, of course.

I think its the caffeine, which is why they can't drink coffee. I'm wondering if de-caffinated would be okay? I buy de-caf Pepsi for my son, certainly don't need him any more hyper than he already is, so I wonder if they could drink that? Hmmmmmm.

I will ask next time. I live in Utah, and we have plenty of nice, mormon friends. I think it is about the caffeine though, but in that case they should both be illegal.
