Again, just to make things clear, I'm not the one who was lying. In fact, I want the guy who was lying to get jail time. I would never lie for anyone in court, i understand the seriousness of it

Even in Family Court, where the rules may not be held to quite as strictly as in some other courts, lying is still considered a serious problem. While I have yet to see anyone imprisoned in my Court for perjury, I have seen many hefty fines imposed for contempt when the lies were exposed.

Yes, you could be sent to jail. However, the likely hood is not great contingent on the severity of the circumstances. Just put it this way, when ever you lie, it's wrong. If you do it in a court of law you are committing a crime.

Absolutely. It's called perjury. In fact, a female rapper just got out of jail after being in for nearly a year for lying.

Ummmm, let me think of the word the big people use , PERJURY, punishable by up to six months in jail. When you lie at all it is wrong, when you lie under oath, for personal gain, discredit another, revenge or retaliation you are breaking one of the BIG10, False Witness, your lawyer is on drugs if he excused the behavior as "everyone does it", WRONG!

Yes
You will instantly be sent to jail for perjury. That's why Lil' Kim went to jail.
That's why Bill Clinton got impeached. It was for lying and lying ONLY.

Yes! you should be sent to jail for lying in court. In most courts, anyone who testifies(gives deposition) is sworn to tell the truth, if you have Proof, that he lied, Hang him Good!

Well, Martha, I see you were stoopid and listened to your lying boyfriend when he told you it was perfectly fine to lie for him in court. What exactly do you think the phrase "the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth" means? Maybe you two can get adjoining cells. You both sound like super-geniuses.
