One prepares for the afterlife and lives one's life to fullest by following God's plan for one's life.

Your question is confusing, since it seems like they are one and the same thing.

Your question only makes sense if I take it by "living life to the fullest extent" you mean living for all the selfish excitement that one can get, and by "preparing for the afterlife" you mean living to help others (which glorifies God).

Obviously, as a Christian, I get excitement mainly by helping others (which is preparing for the afterlife, since people's souls are the only thing that we can take to Heaven with us).

I think you should live life to its fullest extent, while doing this you can still stay within your morals which is preparing you for the afterlife. We all sin, so as long as you ask for forgiveness for the things you do wrong and are truly sorry for them there is nothing you can do to prepare for the afterlife.

You ask that question as if the two were mutually exclusive. They are not. To a Christian, living one's life to the fullest extent means striving to live a life that is pleasing to God. Does that mean we cannot participate in activities and enjoy life? Certainly not.

And I don't think there is really any way to "prepare for the afterlife" You don't prepare yourself. You live your life, and you strive to make God happy with your choices.

I personally believe that if I live my life to the fullest (My destiny and Purpose given to me by God) then I would be preparing for the afterlife in so doing.

Nobody knows what the afterlife will be like, so it's really useless to 'prepare'. Besides, I think you'll be well-enough prepared if you do live your life to the fullest. One leads to the other.

Preparing for the afterlife is the most important thing we will ever do. From birth we are 'preparing for death' because the 'afterlife' will be a lot longer than this one.

IMHO, if you live life to the fullest in the context of your Christian faith, you are already fully prepared for the afterlife.

I do not have to "prepare" for the afterlife. Jesus paid my admittance ticket with his life. ;-)

A life of service and gratitude is what is important to me, lived by the grace of God.
