Genesis 2:16-17
The LORD God commanded the man, saying, "From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.

No, according to the Bible they could eat from any tree except one. This was an aplle tree in the center of the Garden. This tree has been called all kinds of things today if you want to look it up. The most common name is the tree of knowledge.

Jim, it's one thing for you to not believe in God. That's your choice.
But it's another thing to deliberately misquote God. You don't have a right to do that, to Him or to anyone.
Here's what God actually said, which is a far cry from your assertion:
"The Lord God gave man this order: 'You are free to eat from any tree in the garden, except the three of knowledge of good and evil" (Gen. 2:16-17).
"Eat from any tree except that one" is a whole lot different than your "must not eat from any tree" quote -- would you not agree, sir?

Yes he did, but he went on to say accept the tree in the midst of the garden. Moses was being shown this in a vision. Why do you think he is the author of the 1st 5 books of the Bible when he hadn't even been born yet.

No. Genesis 2:16-17 says "And the LordGod commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt suurely die. end of verses Now know this that God was not only talking about a physical death to come but an immediate spiritual death by being seperated from God by sin. That sin being disobedience to God

No. Wrong again. He said, "You may eat of every fruit of every tree in the garden, but of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge in the middle of the garden, you may not eat." See the difference?

If there is a God he/she/it may/might have made that rule for Eden. Of course Adam and Eve already had free will and choose to eat of the tree because free will came first. It wasn't a sin for them to do that...Religion took the story in that direction for it's own purposes...CONTROL. Peace!!!

Funny that, as per the Bible, that is what Satan asked Eve, almost word for word. But, as Eve told Satan, 'No, he did not say that, he said we could eat from any tree except the tree of knowledge of good and bad.'
