Leviticus 11:21

"There are, however, some winged creatures that walk on all fours that you may eat: those that have jointed legs for hopping on the ground."

Leviticus 11:23
"But all other winged creatures that have four legs you are to detest".

Quadrupedalism (from Latin, meaning "four legs") is a form of land animal locomotion using four legs. The majority of walking animals are quadrupeds, including mammals such as cattle and cats, and reptiles, like lizards. Birds, humans, insects, crustaceans, and snakes are not quadrupeds.

I wish you'd apply this admirable scepticism to all holy books, not just some.

John was talking about the acceptance of all people on earth not animals. Besides science and the Bible concur, If you eat swine you will probably get trichinosis, If you eat a spider like some south american tribes people do, the chances of getting some infections multiplies and thats just a few examples.

Point is , if you go by what God said to eat and not eat, then illnesses wouldn`t run rampant like they are now.

I hope I didn`t offend.

We are now in the Age of Grace because of the death and resurrection of Jesus. That means that we have full salvation through the blood of Jesus not the imperfect blood of animals.
The Old Covenant and sacrifices have been replaced by the New Covenant in Jesus and so Levitical laws do not apply. In fact the instruction related to diet is:
"You are to abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things." Acts 15:29
So enjoy your breast of winged creatures and steaks of four legged creatures!

There is by definition no such thing as a winged creature with four legs. There you go thinking again. Get another popsicle and go back to your corner.

why not? Maybe they're were still some around when Leviticus was written. Why soes that bother you? Or maybe they had misinformation from local scientists. The Bible is much more than you think. Read it for faith and inspiration not for scientific information.

You are speaking of the old covenant. When John had the vision on the roof God told him that what he has prepared for him was not detestable, basically saying all things through Christ Jesus are acceptable to us...............

That's just stating that the people were permitted to eat the locusts, or Grasshoppers. I sure wouldn't do it, though! I bet they don't taste all that great!
