How can you explain that the 3rd richest man in the world (according to forbes magazine) is a mexican, his name is "carlos slim helu" and he is a descendant of arabians. After yesterday's fraud in the mexican presidential election, this guy which owns the national telephone company in mexico (a monopoly) will be allowed to maintain his monopolies and to become richer. But the problem for the US is that because the low salaries that this and others mexican impresarios pay to their employees, we will have a tremendous increase in the flux of illegal immigrants crossing to america.
Prepare for an estimate of 1 million mexicans crossing annually from now on.
I think the time has come for us american to help mexicans to defeat their corrupt goverment.

Easy there Einstein. Get the facts straight then talk. First of all, he's not the 3rd richest man in the world from pesos. He owns most of sbc as well here in America, so therefore you or someone else that you know is contributing to his wealth. Secondly, the elections were made July 2nd and there was a recount that proved that the next president won by the majoity of votes. Third, did you know that Mexico is the country were more millionaires habitat in the whole world? People are not going to be crossing over the border to make a better living just because of a high telephone bill Mr. E. All they have to do is just simply NOT HAVE A PHONE LINE. Also, the new elected president is pro entreprenuirship meaning creating more jobs. Trust me people in Mexico want to stay in their country so they wont have to put up with people like you getting statistics pulled out of their *#@. Americans trying to help a corrupt Mexico? Not a chance. People with sufficient resources live a lot more in peace and a higher quality of life in Mexico thatn in the us. Just ask all the millionaires living there why they chose Mexico instead of the u.s. People like you "Einstein"

Well the US is preparing for them as we speak. We are going after the companies that hire illegals in a major way. We have approved the "fence" and additional border patrol. We are using National guard on the borders to support the border patrol. This isn't going to be fixed overnight, but it will be fixed. I read up on both the candidates and from the information that was available to me, I think the better man won. Both from a Mexican standpoint and US relations. Time will tell.

American help defeat Mexico's corrupt government?!! LOL! If Mexicans can't or won't fix their own problems what difference will American intervention make? As soon as the US government gets involved everyone will start screaming "here comes the world police sticking it's nose where it doesn't belong again". Fact is Mexico's problems are born and breed by Mexicans.

A man is rich so you want to make him pay for you?

Typical.

That tendency to nationalize businesses once they start doing well is what limits investment there.

I don't know this guy and he may be demon spawn who stole everything from the people and would deserve having it taken away. However, that is what criminal courts are for, not governments.

You need universal education, and if you structure your tax system, this guy will probable pay a huge part of that.

Personally, I think utilities should be publicly controlled, so I am moderately sympathetic with nationalization in this case. However the philosophy that because he is rich he should lose his business is warped in my opinion.

Oh hell no! You don't get to touch my country just because you've got issues with it. Sure, Mexico is practically hell and I don't blame people for leaving. But that doesn't give you a right 'to help mexicans defeat their corrupt goverment.' You think you are helpin Iran and Irak? You think you helped Vietnam? Stay in your country and deal with YOUR problems like gas prices, Bush and homeless. Let Mexicans deal with theirs.

I totally agree with you. My family left mexico(LEGALLY) because of the drug cartels, the police corruption, and low wages. Mexico doesnt have a middle class. There, you're either rich or poor. It is so refreshing to see a person who doesnt whine about illegals and actually wants to help. WE SHOULD BE PART OF THE SOLUTION, RATHER THAN THE PROBLEM. Good for you.
