My 3 year old goes to bed around 9:00 p.m. She usually naps a couple of hours during the daytime, so I feel 9:00 is an appropriate time for her.
Now if your child does not nap, I would say around 7:30 or 8:00. I've found that when mine doesn't nap, by around 7:30 or so she is nearly impossible to deal with.

Routine is the most important thing. Perhaps a relaxing bath time about 7, bed 7:30 with a short story then lights out. Once a routine is established try to stick to it all the time. Children are much calmer and more settled if they know what to expect and when to expect it. Good luck

No later than 8 p.m. the 3 year old should go half an hour earlier than the 4 year old. So 3 years old between 7 and 7.30. Then the 4 year old between 7.30.and 8 o'clock. This will also teach them about each other aswell, who's older who's younger....etc.

The real question is how many hours of sleep in a 24 hour period do 3 and 4 year old children need. Call your pediatrician and ask him/her. Adjust nap/bed times accordingly.

Children this age need 12-14 hours of sleep in a 24 hour period. 10 to 11 of these hours should be overnight. The others during nap. If they are getting up at 7am, they should be in bed, asleep by 8pm.

It really depends on your family's daily schedule. If they have to get up in the morning or if you run on a "normal" daily schedule, then 8pm is about right. That way they will get their allotted 11-12 hours of sleep each night. If you prefer them to sleep later in the morning then push bedtime back an hour. I'm a firm believer in a good night's sleep. Even my 11 yr old goes to bed at 8:30pm. He is mildly autistic and one of the most agreeable, well-behaved preteens I know. That didn't happen for him until we established a sensible sleep schedule for him around age 6.

8:00 pm is a good bed time for that age range. At least that is the bed time I give my kids and they are now 4 and 5.

8:30 in the summer and 8:00 in the winter. Plus they still need a nap or at least a rest time. Do not over do the sleep then they have a hard time adjusting in school, but make sure they are getting enough.
