The idea of a God and a Satan come back to basic ideas of good and evil. The one can not exist without the other so yes they both serve the same purpose.

It depends which God you are referring to, if you are talking about the Bible God, he was created by man, with human attributes like Jealousy, hatred, vindictiveness etc. You need to research where the Hebrews God Yaweh came from, you will be amazed. Also, research where the belief in Satan comes from, you will be amazed there also. In the beginning the Hebrews believed that God was the creator of good and evil. It was only after their captivity in Babylon when they were exposed to different beliefs that they began their belief in a separate entity which was to blame for evil. Research the Sumerians, the Zoroatrians and you will see where the Hebrews got many of their stories from.

What exactly do you mean by purpose? Neither one can be fully comprehended, but their kind of on opposite sides of the spectrum here. For example, God created us in his image, thereby making us immortal. Then Satan threw death into the equation. Does it sound to you like they have the same purpose?

Well, God created everything as you know, including angels. Well, before Satan became what you know him as now, he was an angel. He was cast out of Heaven because he had too much pride and would boast. And that is how Satan came to be.

Satan was actually an angel in Heaven with God. However, he became rebellious and jealous of God. Satan had some followers with him, all of whom planned to take the throne.
However, God kicked him and his followers out of heaven and sent them to the middle of the Earth.

God created satan, but the diffrence is God wants good for humanity, satan wants to destroy it..
and don't say God doesn't exist, if there's no god then who created you in your perfect way, even in our modern technology, NO ONE can create one cell or even one atom of a human body..

You couln't believe in god without believing in Satan. Because if there was no Satan, what purpose would there be for God to exist?

God always has always been. Satan was created. The very premise of your question is wrong.
