Any ideas on any recipes or sauces or marinades or anything? Because my friends like to throw BBQ's and they like when I come out with something random like my own buffalo wings or ceviche, or a fancy fruitbowl. Nothing lame like a store bought potato salad lol. something impressive maybe? haha but not too complicated, its a kickback with friends.

Ok I have a few suggestions.....

There are some great marinades out there right now on the market. One is A1 Chicago Steakhouse Marinade. It has tomato and bell pepper falvorings in it. Simple and good! Another BBQ sauce I think is the best is the Jack Daniel's ones that are out. I normally get the one in the purple/blue wrapper. Use these and you will be a hit. Very easy and simple!

Another idea is pasta or salads in general. You can get really creative with these. My sister makes an italian one with tomato, basil, mozerella, garlic and seasoning. She then tosses it in either Italian dressing or some Balsamic Vingerette. Yummy. You can also do a southwest one. Just get some corn, peppers, tomaotes, beans (suggest black), onion, seasonings of the southwest nature and then some simple vinegar and oil mixture. Let the veggies and seasonings give the flavor.

There those are my suggestions! I hope you try them and enjoy! :)

One of hte best things I do on the BBQ is Beer Can Chicken. Take a 12 oz can of your favorite beer, not a lite one, something really bold and tasty. Get a whole chicken and remove the insides. Salt and pepper the cavity then stand the bird up over the can, leg side down. Take the wings and hook the tips over the back side so they don't flop around. Set the bird on a roasting pan, season the outside with your favorite BBQ seasoning (dry rubs work best here). then set the pan over the bbq and let if roast away. The beer protein adds tastiness beyond belief and the beer steaming keeps the bird nice and moist.

If you buy ribs, put them in a pan on the stove and pour in 2 bottles of beer and 2 cans of Coke. (or enough to cover them). I also add a couple smashed cloves of garlic, a half an onion, some ginger, a cinnamon stick, and a couple of cloves. Then simmer until the ribs are cooked all the way though. Drain them and toss them on the BBQ with your BBQ sauce until the sauce caramelizes a little on the outside.

Cooked this way, they are tender, cooked through, come off the bone very cleanly, taste AWESOME and the sauce doesn't burn.

Seafood - Lobster. It is the time of the year for Clam Bakes. I know its not exactly Bar-B-Q but its a lot of fun. I make a big fire in back yard . I have a steel drum, but several cement blocks in a circle will alo work. Then get a large POT or a new metal garbage can will work for lots of them. (but be sure to burn of galvainzeing). Then fill with water and add a favorite beer for flavor. Bring to boil, toss in Lobster, Crabs, Corn on the cob, Potatos . . . Let it boil then serve. The key is if you need to make alot and/or make in stages if the pot is not big enough. Put the done ones in a cooler WITH OUT ICE . . .. they will stay warm until you are ready to serve. You can roll cooler next to table and serve out of cooler too. It also keeps them warm and fresh. Dont forget the drawn butter and a good wine . . . you are then ready for a clam bake. Then you can all sit around fire and talk into night. Kids can make smores (chocolate, marsh mello, and gram crakers) . . . Just nice to sit by fire in any case. Also keeps bugs away.

There you have my Idea of a Summer Bar-B-Q

One of the easiest and most impressive meals I have ever had came off a barbque. Take some fresh white fish, like cod or perch and cover with butter, garlic and onions, then wrap the whole thing in foil and throw it on the grill. omg so tender and flakey. Very easy to make but also an impressive presentation.

I make my own BBQ sauce for ribs, it is out of this world! everyone loves it, its easy to make... so if you would like it just let me know... also a big hit is my home made ambrosia.. also very easy to make!you just have to make sure you prepare it the night before and refridgerate it so the flavors will mesh, = a large bowl, 4 large cans fruit cocktail, 4 cans mandarin oranges, 1 container(16 oz) sour cream,1 large can pineapple chunks, 2 jars maraschino cherrys 2 cups of coconut flakes(optional) drain and mix all ingredients in the large bowl ( though I add the cherry juice in the mix) reserving 1 jar of the cherries ... cover the bowl with plastic or lid overnight in the fridge, the next day prior to the party stir the mix again., then decorate the top of the mixture with your reserved jar of cherries keep in fridge till ready to serve ..enjoy!

My trademark dish with all of our friends and families are Hillshire Farms "Lil' Smokies" with pineapple. I open a can of chopped pineapple(save the juice), stick a toothpick through it and then a little smoky. Stick them in a pan, pour the remaining pineapple juice over the top of them sprinkle some brown sugar over that, and then bake them on about 350ish for around 10 mins. Trust me when I say that your friends will LOVE them!!!

Another dish that I make that is ALWAYS a huge hit is fruit cabobs. I chop up watermelon, fresh pineapple, cantelope, strawberries and kiwi and stick them all on a cabob stick. When you cut your watermelon open, cut it horizontally down the middle, spoon the flesh out and then keep the core in tact. This makes a really cute serving tray for once you're done with the cabobs you can stick the end of them into the watermelon and serve them like that! It's delicious, fun, and really easy!

Buy a whole pork tenderloin and cook it slowly, after using a garlic/pepper rub. It melts in the mouth and is very simple to cook on a grill. Crusty on the outside and very tender inside. If you're taking something else that's not grilled, take chocolate dipped strawberries, kiwis and orange slices - easy to make and everyone loves it
