Parental guidance, food on the table, roof over the head, Toys (lots of toys) discipline, schooling, teaching respect and correct morals. I am being what a parent is to be. I love my children more than anything and would die for them. I am teaching them to be good upstanding citizens (if it kills me).
Mother of a 16 yr old and 7 yr. old.

Ummmm..... I would think you would be capable of both? What is wrong with our children? They too fat? Take there game-boy away and send their butts out to play, Too Dumb, pay more attention to their school work and working with their teacher (not against) to ensure your child get a good education, teach your child values, such as being responsible for their actions, being a good citizen, helping others, etc... Are you raising your child or is someone you don't know raising them and forming their little minds. These are things that parents can do, AND they can also support their government who is trying to do the right thing in the world.

I think it's important to raise our children to be empathetic to the needs of others. This way we can pass on our desires to help, while at the same time instilling values into our children. My children are taught to resolve their issues peacefully, to take a break when a situation feels too intense and they feel like they might lash out, to use their words during conflicts, and to treat other people with respect.

I agree. When did America's children and poor become secondary to the rest of the world's? We pretend that because these problems are not as drastic as they are in other countries that we don't need to address them, but we should. Adopt American children!

Well ya know what gets me is when loads complain Bush should do this or that I gotta ask myself what are the Complainers doing to help cause complaining is not gonna help at all.
Elton John went before U.S. Congress to ask them to put more money into fighting AIDS by claiming on person, corporation or Country in the world has the Money the U.S. Govt has to fight AIDS.
In reality Elton John has plenty of Money to help fight AIDS himself and while he has donated some money towards it we should look at how much he spends on a Luxurious lifestyle and the fact he engages in a Lifestyle that can lead to AIDS.

In America Everybody has a chance to become what they want to be. They're poor children in a rich country, but the ones in Africa have no chance of getting what they want, they're poor people in a poor country. Also the poor kids can have a chance of getting realllly rich one day. Heard of stories where homeless people became rich.

Then, when I graduate we will move to a bigger city, so that when my children grow up they will have the opportunitites that I never did!

I was a landscaper, and now I'm studying nursing. I plan to specialize in psychiatric nursing and work with homeless people.
