That smells good, doesn't cost over 5 bucks, and works well for heat-damaged hair

Dove has a deep moisturizer that's under $5. Use whatever shampoo you want, as long as it's for dry/damaged hair. But then work in the deep moisturizer twice a week and leave it on for 5-10 mins each time. It really helps heat-damaged hair.

Also, Redken makes a leave-in conditioner with UV protection. If you're going to be out in the sun, use that to add more moisture and more protection to your hair.

Garnier smells really good and works well. I'm using a Suave brand that's copying off of Matrix. Super cheap but is working SO well. It doesn't have a pretty smell though. But my Herbal Essences Hair Gel gives it a pretty scent. Dove is great to. It's very soft and gentle in your hair and it has a very clean smell to it.

Try a set that meets your personal hair problems..for instance..if your hair is dry, use a moisturizing set, if its oily, use clarifying! all shampoo and conditioners are basically the same..so it doesnt matter if you spend $2 or $20 for a bottle...it will probably conclude the same results :) my fave-finesse..about $3 a bottle, smells awesome and makes my hair feel great!

Well, darlin', I'm a big fan of Suave. I can still look good, and I don't have to give up my first born to do so. Also, check out Dove's hair care line, as well as Garnier. Most of the time, a lot of the products I just mentioned usually have like a buy one get one free promotion, or you get a big assed bottle and they give you a free sample of their latest creation. Good luck and happy stylin', sweetie!
