"... It's not about the money. Well, I do want money, but I can get that with almost no effort... in the form of donations from my flock. What I REALLY need are followers who will happily give their lives for me. Think about it! An invincible army of fanatics with no fear of death! ... The people... LOVE me! They think that my words come from GOD! No matter how much noise you make, no matter what evidence you have, they'll NEVER listen to you! THOSE IDIOTS WILL BELIEVE ANYTHING I TELL THEM! I'VE COMPLETELY FOOLED THEM!"

Yes, this is from FMA, but, I just want to see how people respond to it.

xD!! Roflmfao, FMA = Full Metal Alchemist.

I was quoting a character from the manga named Father Cornello who can "speak" to the Sun God Leto, which everyone in the town they're in worships. I just figured I'd post this up to see how people react. I love to see the face people get so offended by it.

Your quote is in reference to the worst possible scenario about religion. The truth is any religion is a mix of good, bad and just plain (in)different. I do think people need to be careful as believing in any one particular religion or person is dangerous and creates much suffering for the individual as well as others. I see this as a warning and not as an absolute proclamation about religion. This is my best possible scenario in regards to the quote.

I don't know who FMA is and I don't care for the statements made as they strike me as someone who is raving mad and anything but God-fearing. The statements are "I" centered, therefore are based upon man and not God or Jesus Christ and I personally would find myself getting up and leaving from this speaker.

Just like all the politcal leaders, and most religious leaders in the world today...It's quite sad, and disheartening. But the truth. (see: George W. Bush).
