God is greater than any thing you can imagine or describe. He is not an animal to have characteristics like us. He does not need those animal parts for procreation b/c He is All-Powerful. He created all of creation, and the reason God is always referred to as 'He' is due to the masculine style of language.

God is a Spirit without the limitations of gender.
HOWEVER, Scripture ALWAYS refers to Him in the masculine (male) form. Why? because when He created man and woman, he established unique roles for each of them. He created them equal, but He created man first and set him up as the caretaker. Then He created woman and gave her the equally demanding task of being man's help-meet.
Gen 2:15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
Gen 2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
Gen 2:21-22 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
God set the man in the position of the guide, provider, caretaker, - head, if you will - of the woman.
When Scripture refers to God as masculine, it is simply referring to His headship over us. We are to follow God as the wife is to follow her husband's leadership.

I love how some answers these questions and never use God's word to show what God says. I think it shows alot of people do not know God's word at all. Well to answer your question. The bible says in Genesis 1:26- And God said, Let Us make man in OUR image, after OUR likeness. This refers to Jesus and God. Who was they creating here, a man. Jesus is a man and we know God is referred to as the Father so that makes him a man.

The CREATOR (GOD) is a BEING that we can't understand yet, or maybe never. Too much power and mental capacity. But the Body HE chose to Create and Live in was Male. The FATHER has one, and the SON came to the EARTH in one too (Male). The CREATOR is FAR ABOVE Male and Female. Hope this helps.

In the Bible, God is referred to as Him ( and supposed 2B ) and man was created 1st (though i'm not saying man is better than woman) what I'm saying is, He's male.
