I don't know the whole answer; I don't think anyone does.

However, I feel very strongly that the first thing you have to do is to accept and believe that your life and your state of mind are mostly the result of the choices that you have made.

Once you accept that, I think you will be able to accept what is, and then make better choices moving forward.

Pray. Seek God. He is the only source of true peace - and it is available to us through faith.
The words of the Bible will comfort you - it is amazing how many times that I seek it and find just what I need.
The Holy Spirit is the giver of peace and will show you abundant life in Jesus Christ - the Truth, the Life and the Way.

God promises in His word that if you seek Him and trust Him, speak to Him, give Him your cares...He in return will give us the peace that passes all understanding.

Because I trust the Lord, I believe all He has said in the bible, and I have entrusted everything with regard to my life to Him, and continue to on a daily basis...He is my peace.

to me, peace comes from living and choosing in accordance with what I know to be true. I dont always do that, and when that is the case, I dont feel at ease. regardless of personal beliefs, it is important to know that your behavior is in alignment with your beliefs. if you feel that you are being true to your beliefs, and still dont feel settled, the next logical step is to take an objective look at your beliefs. news flash to 1st year philosophy majors.... truth IS absolute. seek truth, find it, confirm it, and live accordingly.
