Watch the horses in the parade ring , and just go with what you fancy and have a brilliant time. Dont put on more than you can afford to lose and you will have a great time.

I like to get the program and go over it the before the day of races. You should be able to pick up a racing form in most newstands near the track. Look for horses with a good record on the type track and distance they will be racing on. Just because a horse can win a furlong in the dirt doesn't mean he can run a quarter mile in the grass, or whatever. If you don't want to spend a lot of time handicapping your horse picks, just find a really successful bettor and stand behind him in line ;-)

pick the UGLY one, the one with the big head, every time I've picked the one that has the lineage, confirmation, athleticism... they've lost to some BRUTE of a horse. So I started picking the ugliest horse freaking out on the way to the padock, and I've been really satisfied with that method.

Chck out the www.racingost.co.uk or buy a local paper - they usually have tipsters. Failing that pick a horse where you like the nae or the colour of their silks!!

When viewing the horses in the Paddock area, look into their eyes & they will tell you all you will need to know, if your eyes are viewed as "worthy"! Eyes are the window to your soul! Horses are very good judges of character! Enjoy!

Watch for the horse that takes a crap during the announcements, it seems to work at the dog track.
