Well....lemme just say it this way. I believe that homosexuality is a choice, and I get that from conversations with christian homosexuals. Whether or not dogs do it with other male dogs, that doesn't matter. Dogs eat their own poo. Many species of animals eat their own dead, or eat their own kids. Is that to say it is natural for us to eat our dead, our kids, or our poo? The point is, that there is biblical teaching that makes it apparant that god sees homosexuality as a choice, and not part of the plan.
Now, that doesn't mean we should look down on them, because there is never mention in the bible of a hierchy of sin. We should treat them as our brothers and sisters (for lesbians).
The Christian association to animals has nothing to do with this debate. Go to several college campuses and people will associate themself with a mascot. I was a thundering herd once, and a ram for a while. The Christian association with animals is purely metaphorical.

I apologize if this gets a little crude but if a dog comes up and starts to hump my leg, does that mean it's O.K. for me to have sex with the dog? Sick huh? But, the point is, I live on a higher plain of intelligence than the dog or any other animal for that matter (except maybe dolphins :o).
We have a light in us that animals do not have. We know the difference between right and wrong and animals do not. Just because a shark or a lion attacks someone and kills them, does that make it O.K. for us to do it? Of course not. We live on a higher plain than animals. We have a conscience. We can make intelligent and moral choices.
All of that only to say that your arguments for support of a homosexual life style do not hold up. And with that being said, please know that I am a Christian who genuinely cares about you and who believes that God loves you and cares for you more deeply than you know.
And by the way, the Christian use of animal analogies have certain emphases. Sheep are dumb animals and are symbolic of our human weakness and need for a Shepherd who truly cares and is truly capable of caring for us. Fish just need to be caught (and the fishermen said "amen" :o). Most Christians feel that they didn't really seek God themselves but that God sought them and caught them somehow.
I wish you love, joy and peace.

Humans are the only ones that God will call to account for their sins. But all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God so a gay person has the same opportunity to go to heaven as anyone else.
By the way I'm curious what's your source on the sexual practices of dogs? Not a sicko site, but is there an encyclopedia or something that tells this, I've never heard about it before.

First, Christians believe that sex is only proper in the context of marriage. They also believe that the only proper marriage relationship is between a man and a woman: Genesis 2:24 (New International Version) "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh." Any references to animals would be irrelevant since animals are not subject to the Law.
The metaphors to animals are just that, metaphors.
Sheep are used to explain our helplessness. Sheep are defenseless, must be lead everywhere by a shepherd, and can not drink from turbulent water without drowning. This allows God and Jesus to be explained simply by using metaphors such as "Good Shepherd" and "he leads me to still waters". By using a simple metaphor, more meaning can be expressed using fewer words.
These metaphors are intended to point out that just as animals have certain physical traits, we also have some of those traits in our spiritual lives. They are not intended to advocate physically acting like animals.

Fish were used as ANALOGIES because they were extremely relevant subjects at the time, and can still be said t be today. Really, they have no significance other than what we've give them. We compare ourselves to lambs because we, like them, have to be sheparded. The analogy isn't perfect because sheep at least have SOME ability to take care of themselves without a shepard, but like I said, back then it was a very easy analogy for them to follow.

This is reducing the issue of sexuality down to the lowest common denominator as usual..sex acts!!! Str8 & gay humans have emotions and feelings of love and generally they use sexual contact as a very special and close way of communicating these things, not always obviously as you get prostitutes and promiscuous Str8's & Gays.
But many animals do have same-sex sex. So it totally sinks the much touted Christian theory that same-sex acts are unnatural which is I think what you are saying here.
There is nothing more unnatural than the supernatural and belief in it.

I gave a scientific answer to this question just moments ago, focus on the other answers if you want, but actual intercourse by animals, takes place only when reproduction has the best chance of being successful, the proper time of estrus..ect..ect..
The reproductive act is expensive as far as energy used, dietary intake, dominant males maintaining breeding rights....
Anal penetration takes place at such a rare rate, it is considered statistically insignificant,,, What you have witnessed is domination by an Alpha to a subordinate animal.

Well, to the best of my knowledge, God didn't command other animals to refrain from homosexuality. To humans it is spelled out as clear as day that sexual immorality is forbidden by God! Whether he did that for other animals, I don't know? But, since we are made in God's image and were created to have reasoning skills and the ability to control a free will, I'm guessing that other animals aren't held to such high standards.

Analogies are not meant as a comparison but rather to explain concepts that are otherwise difficult to grasp. Jesus was great at taking the profound and making it practical. That iswhy he used fishing analogies a lot, for most of the people he spoke toi were fisherman.
