I am baffled by the religious advocates that scream and hate gay people.

Where exactly in the Ten Commandments is it written that being gay is such an evil thing? The one commandment that comes to mind is “love thy neighbor”. Put yourself in a gay person’s shoes. You are conflicted and confused. The whole world is telling you that you have to be attracted to the opposite sex, but you simply aren’t. Maybe that’s “God’s” will? What if being attracted to the opposite sex was “unnatural” but you were? What would you do? Deny yourself an entire life of pleasure and love, just because some religious fanatics are screaming at you about it? I would be interested in hearing why this is such a “hot button” issue for believers. Do you honestly believe God is condoning your hatred? If you are a true believer, you must recognize that you are not the judge, nor the executioner.

I am a Christian...and you're right that the Ten Commandments say nothing about the sin of homosexuality, but it is discussed elsewhere in the Bible. You are also right to say that hating someone just because of their actions is also a sin. I do believe that homosexuality is a sin, because I do believe what the Bible says; however, that does not mean that I don't love my several homosexual friends, just like it doesn't mean that I don't love my alcoholic friends, or my atheist friends, or anyone else who doesn't believe as I do.

I'm not perfect, and I know no one else is. It isn't my place to judge someone by their actions. "Hate the sin, love the sinner," if you will.

God bless!

There are many comandments in the Bible besides the 10 that you are referring to. When God says to Go into all the world and preach the Gospel - that is a commandment - not a suggestion.
Likewise there are many places in the Bible that forbid homoseluxality. Niether are these "suggestions"

I don't know of a single Christian that hates gay people. Hating the person and hating the sin are completly different. I'll bet when you were a kid, and even know that you ere not, are still are not 100% perfect, am I right? But someone always took care of you, bought you clothes, sent you to school, taught you to argue, ect.
soemone loved you, even though you did things wrong. Sin is doing things wrong. Contrary to God's word.

And one more thing, it isn't just Christians that have a problem with Gays. Gays also have a problems with Christians. I had a freind once who was gay. Once she found out I was "anti- gay " and I offered to show her in the Bible where God says so.. she stopped speaking to me.

As far as being attracted to someone of the same sex, No REAL Christian will ever be attracted to sin.

Christians are not perfect. Just forgiven.

The ten commandments say do not commit adultery, if you are unmarried and having the equivalent would be fornication. That is not where we find out about gay sex being wrong though. The bible explains about a man with a man and a woman with a woman in the new testament. Christians don't hate gays, we are to hate sin, that would be any sex except for that between a man and a woman who are married to each other.

They are the only minority that it is still cool to persecute.

I was reported for suggesting that interracial marriage was a sin( in the context of this discussion), but there was a time not long ago when it was considered wrong by churches ( yoking the ox with the asss). Well, its not cool for churches to preach about the 'sons of Ham', or the ' mark of Cain'., any more, so they have gays.

I don't hate them, I disagree with their life style. Chron 2 : 5. Everyone is entitled to what lifesyle they choose, I choose to believe and obey Christ. they choose to be gay. I don't have to agree with it, I wish there were a law against it, just like being a petafile. People need to learn self control and not do things just because it feels good. I love to drink, but it is an indulgance that I must keep in control. I think alot of them (gays) esp. young people do it for attention, just like goth was a way of attracting attention when I was young.

I am Roman Catholic. I am not gay. I do not have a problem with people who are gay. It is not for me to judge them nor is it my place to tell them whether or not they can worship where I do or in the same way that I do. I strongly feel that it is not Christian to hate or perpetuate hate...

There is nothing wrong with gay people and I'm religous. I am ashamed of the people who scorn them for their choice in life. You think they would except it. also, if it was so wrong to God, then he should not have made them that way. That's all the proof they should need.

If you are religious particularly Christian try to have a word with your pals who are causing a scene over their homophobia and in so doing discrediting your religion...it makes you all look bad and makes your religion an object of ridicule to the rest of us.
