You can still live in a quiet, country setting without being a hick. Maybe she just likes the atmosphere, trees and space. There are always compromises, somewhere. Ask a local realtor.

I live in the country but I'm not a redneck. I only lived 3 years out here so far and I an not a redneck nor hillbilly. If you think about it long enough and talk to her about it, then you two can get some things settled through. All you have to do is just talk to her about it and you can just move on from this problem. beleive me, i hate rednecks and hillbillies somedays, even though I am living thier lifestyle.

You can pull your head out of your ***.

You have a completely distorted view of how country folk live. Country folk live a lifestyle very much similar to the suburbs, except with much more space, if you catch my drift. There are a few notable exceptions where extremely poor folk live. These are analogous to bad inner city neighborhoods and are rare. Just don't live there....duh.

Anyway. Here is what to do. Make your decision based on demographic data.

Go to http://www.bestplaces.net Look up the demographics of areas near where you want to live. Specifically, look at the people section and the crime statistics. Make sure the demographics reflect several things similar to yourself.....income, education, race, and political bent. Also, make sure the crime rate is acceptable. If you do this, you will find that the people who live where you are going are exactly like yourself. You will be very happy there.

I think you had better look up the word hillbilly. They are not people who live in the country.
I think your girlfriend should find someone more educated.
You sound a bit racist to me.

If you honestly believe that only rednecks and hillbillies live in the country, then you are as ignorant as they come. Please don't procreate.

But it's ok for your children to learn pettiness and intolerance from you? Who is this woman? I'd like to talk to her, myself.
