Why is there a move to outlaw same-sex marriages, but no laws against:

Leviticus 11:9: Of all the creatures living in the water of the seas and the streams, you may eat any that have fins and scales.

Leviticus 19:19: Nor shall a garment of mixed linen and wool come upon you.

Exodus 35:3: Do not light a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day.

And if Jesus did away with the Old Law, why are so many of the commandments in the Old Law still expected to be followed?

In many cases, there are laws pertaining to some of the types laws you have quoted. 49 out of 50 US states have laws that protect the sanctity of Sunday. Of couse Sunday is not the Sabbath, but most law makers are not smart enough to figure that out. To answer the first question more directly, Christians like to pick and choose what laws they want to keep, and those who make the laws are no different.

No matter what anyone tells you, Jesus did not "do away" with the OT laws. He said so himself.

"Don't think that I have come to destroy the law of Moses or the teaching of the prophets. I have not come to destroy them but to bring about what they said." (Matthew 5:17 NCV)

Not all laws are from the the bible to answer your first question. Secondly, same sex marriages are governed by the State. Sooo, if you want same sex marriages to be allowed in your state you need to initiate voting power and vote for those individuals that will make that happen, and adovate at the state capitol for it.

The scriptures you are talking about is in the old testament. It is the old law. The old law was done away with when Jesus came.

Because Christians can't make up their minds. And they don't know what they're doing.
