There are appropriate spaces for religious symbols , the home and places of worship but public spaces used by persons of all manner of religions and none should be kept free of religious symbols, they shouldn't be displayed in state schools or shared crematoria for example... the least appropriate place for religious symbols is a court house where all must feel they are getting a fair hearing not a religiously biassed one.
I don't think religion should receive state funding at all or tax breaks either, or be allowed any exemptions from equality laws or have any special privileged access to the ear of Gov't during the drafting of legislation that affects us all.

Yes, especially yours, Darth. I hate to see all those poor young
kids standing in line and going into the "church" to see the latest
"star bores" tale. It rips off their money, and deceives their souls
concerning the TRUE master, Jesus Christ.
Plus, since Christianity is NOT a religion, then we could have some REAL questions on Yahoo answers, instead of wasting
time listening to atheistic religious fanatics go boo-hoo all the
time!

Banned in Government, yes. But we should have a public venue for free speech, where Christians and Nazis and unicyclists can express themselves to whoever is willing to listen. Yes, we should have a publicly funded venue for free speech--like public TV, and the village square.

Resounding No
what would be next and where would we stop trying to stop everything that someone might find offensive. We would all be mute most of the time. People need to respect each other and value their life not agree with them. Many of my friends don't hold my religion but we still are friends they just think im crazy and i think they need Christ but we talk about it and everything else and still hang out. Why can't that be done every where. Because people don't want to think.

No.
In fact, I would argue for the opposite. That we should actually practice the First Amendment and allow all religious thoughts to be expressed in public.
As the old quote goes, the best way to counter a bad idea isn't to suppress it - it's to counter with a better idea.

Once you start banning stuff, even crappy stuff like religion, the trend does not end. Just check the people who are shoving that crap down your throat. Maybe they'll think twice.

I second Ronin. It's not the public viewing that's inappropriate, it's the government sanctioning and funding that is.
