No, you cannot give this up for Lent. But, you can do something extra.

I would first ask, "What's the purpose of Lent?" If it's for some religious tradition, then give it up now! Christianity is about having a relationship with Christ. If you believe you will somehow gain brownie points in heaven for letting something go for 40 days, then you have missed the point entirely and you need to ask yourself how you even know you are going to heaven (being a good person doesn't get you there!)

However, if, in your relationship with Christ, you see an area that holds you back from loving Him more, then let it go for those 40 days and spend that time worshipping him. You'll find a deeper relationship with Christ that will not only bless you, but those around you. You may find that thing you let go of doesn't need to be in your life at all.

You can give up giving up and so keep living it up. I won't mention getting it up or keeping it up in case my therapist is reading this. Having said that, or in the case of getting it up and keeping it up, not having said that, it may not be a problem in the long term since lent doesn't sound like it's very permanent, does it.

A very deep question from a catholic person. Here is the answer you seek.
Lent is just a tradition of men. Religion, with all their dogma's and theologies, separate us from God, and I know you don't want that to happen.
So don't do what God tell us to stay away from, organized religion. Glad I was able to help you with your walk with God.><>
