I always thought I was a pretty nice guy until the fundies told me otherwise. Now I realize what a hateful troll I am because I question religious dogma. Thank you everyone for opening my eyes.

I do not believe ALL theists share the same POV as those you mentioned. However, there does appear to be a trend on Answers that atheists are incapable of having a system of morals.
Theists (that is, MOST theists encountered here) are incapable of severing the deity-morality umbilical cord in order to see that the two can survive independent of one another. "Yes, Virginia, there is morality without a deity!"
The posts and reactions you and I (and others) perceive seem to serve several purposes: It continues to widen the gap between theists and atheists AND it serves to justify and reinforce their own beliefs that the rest of the world is evil and immoral because we do not share their same beliefs. It also serves as a means to rally the radical religious troops and to sound their battle cry. Lastly, it is a means of spreading propaganda.
Perhaps in some sense this is another holy war for them.
I recommend thoroughly reading all of the answers you've received thus far (and those to come) and read between the lines. Understand what is fueling each response. Your answer lies hidden there.

I don't think atheists are immoral or heathens. They have morals too. But what are the point of these morals if one believes all we are is higher animals destined to die forever and be useless? As moral as an atheist may be, what purpose do they believe it fulfills? I honestly want to know, though I haven't asked that exact question yet.

And we have to endure the same redundant questions about the so-called theory of evolution.. Have you ever tried to confirm or disrepute the valid answers to the evolution question..? Or, are you you to get yourself offended and then pick a fight.
So,, What is your standard for morality? Would you care for a terminally ill or develop disabled child, without laws to compel you to do so? Or would you leave it to "survival of the fittest".
Would you share in what you have with another who can't get by,
If it wasn't for tax's you pay to support the poor?

Religious people are taught from a very young age that their particular deity invented and owns morality. This is wrong, and is the cause of the trend you see. Ta-daa!

Do you notice, you keep asking the same kinds of questions, fueling the flames, maybe?
I am a Christian pure and simple. I don't understand how someone who doesn't know me can generalize my thoughts as the thoughts of others. I think religion is a choice. Choices come with consequences. That is the bottom line. I think people should see Christ's love and what He did for them instead of debating who is right and wrong.
Odviously, with you asking the same types of questions over and over again, you are searching for something.
I pray you find it....

Whether we believe in evolution or creation, we are ALL immoral, godless heathens.
Only God Himself can save us from this predicament. Thank God He did, when Jesus died on the cross!

I consider myself a pretty devout Christian, but I gotta give it to ya. Looking at your history of questions, you spend a heck of a lot more time in the Religion section than I do. And for one who seems to have all the answers, you sure do ask a lot of questions. Best of luck. Who knows, one day you might just look up and find the answer to your question.
