Why does a round pizza come in a square box?

From what I've been able to find out, they put them in square boxes simply because that's what was available. It's a lot easier to make a basic square box in just about any size or height or whatever, but apparently nobody just took the time and initiative to make a round box. Some places do use round boxes now.

Probably because it's a heck of a lot cheaper to make a square box than try to make a round one (and easier to store, move, etc). And pizzas are round because of the way they are traditionally made.

Square boxes are easier to build and to stack. Pizza is easier to roll out into a round shape than a square.

Thats a really good question. i say because its easier to get out like if u put a square pizza in a square box then theres no way u can get it out with ur fingers.

because square boxes are much easier and quicker to produce than round boxes.Its all a matter of cost.

Coloring on the boxes helps to cater toward our need to buy something we like seeing. You know the old saying what looks good must be good and it makes storing it at the grocery easier.
